Pizzeria Ristorante Al Profeta In Venezia

A friend of mine who lives in Venice told me about this restaurant, and I eat pizza there every time I go on a business trip. The waiters are getting younger and younger each year, making this restaurant always full of energy and frequented by locals. There are a lot of tourists early in the evening, but later in the evening, the crowd is almost exclusively Italian. All the young waiters are friendly and speak English, so you can order with confidence. It may seem like putting the cart before the horse, but once you're seated, it's hard to order or you forget to bring your drinks.The reason why waiters are prioritizing clearing empty seats in order to get customers in quickly is because they have trouble ordering or forgetting to bring drinks. Compared to Milan, which is the starting point for business trips, table settings in Florence and Venice are simpler and all tables are made of paper, and paper tablecloths and napkins are rolled up and thrown away when the guests change. This time, I was only able to make a late reservation, so I ate pasta with a colleague. It was delicious with a consistent taste and a large portion compared to other restaurants. The dessert is super sweet, typical of Italy, and goes well with the espresso coffee. Is it inevitable that prices are getting higher every year no matter where you eat? As a request, I would like to eat delicious bread.

Alexandro treated us fantastically and made it easy for us to speak to each other in Spanish. The food was quite reasonably priced.

The best place in Venice to eat. Lots of variety of dishes, quality food and generous portions. We ordered the rotolbricola, one of the bestsellers, and the bigoli from sottobosco. Everything is very rich. The waiters are very nice and attentive. It is close to the university area, a less touristy area. Very well priced. In a city where it is difficult to find an authentic place, there are still restaurants like this where you can enjoy a good meal at a good price.

We loved it!!! 200% recommended. Elaborate dishes, typical Italian but with a different touch to the classics and also super good. Price-quality is very good because the dishes are huge and the prices are a little cheaper than the very expensive ones in the center. There were 4 of us and we ordered one each and it was better to order 3 and share because we came out rolling. In short WE WILL BE BACK. A 10.

A difficult place to find in Venice outside of the extremely touristy area and with 'normal' prices. Fantastic food and service. The guy made several recommendations and hit the nail on the head.

Honestly, Al Profeta was the culinary highlight of our five days in Venice. I had made a list of 6 restaurants located within a 700 m radius of our hotel, and this one was the farthest away. But intrigued by the photos of the dishes on Google maps, we wanted to know more; and we were absolutely not disappointed! No reservation? No problem! Super friendly and relaxed welcome from their team, super child-friendly like everywhere in Italy (the waiter brought a pot of colored pencils and drawings for our 5 year old daughter), and their humor put us in the right mood. “welcome!”. In terms of cuisine, we were not disappointed! It was original, well executed, neat and delicious! The pizza dough was phenomenal, as was the topping (very generous, with carefully chosen quality ingredients). We are not pushed to consume and the prices are very reasonable. Above all, it's a change from the usual dishes offered by other restaurants. Honestly, we will go back! My new favorite spot in Venice (which we've been talking about between us for 3 days).

We loved our dinner at Al Profeta so much we went back another night! It is in a quiet part of town and fun to walk to it. The food and service were great!

Very busy place, maybe due to the fact that most venues were closed for holidays...Food was in good venetian traditional style, well prepared and served in a friendly and efficient manner. Choice was very good, also very enjoyable wines at reasonable prices. Fully recommended.
