A typical lunch at an incredible price! We ordered orecchiette with turnip greens and cavatelli with mussels and clams; both portions were generous and of excellent quality. For our second course, we had meatballs with braciole, which were also spectacular. We were served bread twice, without asking. The owners are very friendly and kind, and even though we finished slightly after closing time, they didn't bother us at all. The whole thing, with two bottles of water and fries, came to €50. I'll definitely be back soon and recommend it to everyone who wants to experience authentic, traditional Taranto cuisine!

Pizzeria Ristorante Gatto e la Volpe

19/02/2026: I returned after a few years and left satisfied. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff friendly. I appreciated the attention to wait times. In my case, alone, I was given priority over more demanding tables. The fish is fresh and the dishes are generous. The mixed antipasto is worth it; it would be enough on its own. There are some risky options, like the strawberries with a side of shrimp, which I honestly didn't understand. For the main course, I would have lightened the grilled calamari with a generous accompaniment of diced peppers. I would leave more room for the fish, without overshadowing it too much. The wine selection is good. In any case, it's a place to go with confidence and avoid any surprises. Highly recommended.
