01/04/2024: The granita is good but the service was not good at all. The proportion of flavors in the granita was wrong: very little chocolate or pistachio and everything else almond. My account was wrong, to get a spoon for the little girl (whom they hadn't brought cream to) I had to get up. And when I asked for explanations about the bill they were also rude. Never again! There are many places in Catania where you eat well and are certainly better served.

15/03/2024: I have always appreciated this place and when it closed I felt like an ''orphan'', since it was part of my life, a refuge on the seafront. When I saw it operational again my joy was great. I found new owners, new staff, new interior design, in short, a different style in everything, and yet... Yet the level of quality is on par with the previous one, and not only that. The welcome and feeling good in that place for the short or long time you stay there makes everything pleasant and happy like in the old days. Furthermore, the food is of excellent quality: friability and fragrance in the puff pastry products, whether for breakfast or snack food, impeccable custard, excellent pastries; the service: attentive, dutiful, taking care of the customer, with the watchful eye of the young dining room manager, Salvo, who, to my pleasure, worthily replaced the role of his predecessor (whom I have always admired for his style , savoir faire and professionalism; the environment: the discreet soft&chic style does not prevent the occasional traveler from entering, sitting down and consuming, since the simplicity and welcome given to those who cross the threshold do not feel discriminated against. Nowadays, in this society of appearances, this is an added bonus!! I'm thrilled with the new Tavernetta!! I can now resume my walks along the seafront and stop, even for a simple coffee, in this place that I love, second only to another bar that I have reviewed.
