It was a pleasant discovery! Fabrizio, the owner, is very kind and welcoming: he makes you feel right at home. The food is excellent, always fresh, and with plenty of choices for all tastes. The atmosphere is warm, well-kept, clean, and truly welcoming. A place you'll gladly return to. Highly recommended!

By now I've learned that just outside Pavia, there are hidden gems nestled among remote villages, sometimes in the most isolated countryside: places that seem frozen in time, with worn signs and the quality of friendly, welcoming service.
This is how I'd like to begin this review of Vigna del Pero, a restaurant that makes its authenticity and hospitality its hallmarks.
The family-run restaurant offers a variety of traditional Lombard and Piedmontese dishes, as the owners are originally from my beloved region.
Everything is explained verbally, no menu: just the passion of the very kind owner, who wants to make you feel at home.
We started with a mixed appetizer of cold cuts, giardiniera, and warm dishes, all homemade. We loved it: the cured meats, in particular, were of excellent quality, comparable to those found in Oltrepò.
We then shared a first course: tagliatelle with homemade white ragù, the dish of the day for me. The ragù was incredible—I never would have thought that white meat, raisins, and cinnamon could create such a unique balance with pasta. A dish worthy of an A+.
For the second course, we shared a veal with tuna sauce—a perfect match for the Piedmontese in me—with tender, exquisite meat and a tuna sauce that tasted just right: delicate, balanced, with the capers in just the right place, never overwhelming.
And then the Ligurian rabbit cacciatore, incredibly tender (not dry as it sometimes can be), fragrant with Taggiasca olives and sweetened with pine nuts, with a delicate yet far from banal balance of flavors.
The desserts were also mind-blowing: we ordered the Piedmontese bonèt, which I wholeheartedly approved of.
The house wine, very good, went down like a charm. The selection of local and international liqueurs and spirits is also excellent: the owner has a true passion that he loves to share with his guests.
The price is fair, considering the quality and, above all, the generous portions of the dishes (about €55 per person).
Highly recommended.

It was an excellent experience, we dined with excellent quality and products, an excellent cellar and I am saying this as a person who knows what he is talking about, since they are owners of excellence at the table.

We discovered this restaurant by chance, just a few minutes from the highway exit. The host greeted us with a smile and presented us with an extensive menu. The home-cooked food is excellent, with all the pasta made in-house. He kindly split the main course and dessert (which my partner and I shared) between two separate plates. Bonet is highly recommended! After a pleasant chat, we parted ways with a bill of €50 for two (first course, half main course and side dish, half dessert, water, and wine). We'll definitely be back!

What can I say? I had a great time. For those looking for good home cooking, this is the right choice. High-quality, carefully selected ingredients and excellent preparation of the dishes. A refined, quiet atmosphere with few tables makes you feel right at home. A generous appetizer, a second course of boned rabbit with sauerkraut, dessert, water, wine, and coffee are €40.00. Highly recommended. P.S.: There is no à la carte menu; there are more dishes dictated by the owner.

I had the pleasure of dining with five of my friends, and I was completely captivated and satisfied. Fascinated by the history, the warmth of the owner/waiter, and the culinary journey of the land in which it's nestled. Various appetizers, house first courses, second courses, dessert, coffee, wine, and amaro. Everything was delicious, simple, and delicious. Like the tartare with parmesan shavings, which was naturally good, given the high-quality ingredients. The staff was truly spectacular. You feel at home, pampered, and guided. I absolutely recommend ordering an amaro: you'll be thoroughly recommended and amazed, just as we were after tasting this one-of-a-kind amaro. The bill was absolutely fair.
Highly recommended!!
