15/09/2025: A comfortable and welcoming family-run retreat. Excellent traditional local cuisine, especially the delicious homemade desserts. The view of the Biandino and Valvarrone valleys is priceless.
28/08/2025: We stayed at the refuge the night between August 24 and August 25, and had a great time!
The staff was friendly, calm, welcoming, and always available to answer guests' questions.
The refuge, if you start from Alpe Paglio, is located behind a small ridge (so it's not visible until the last stretch of the trail). The rooms are very comfortable, with comfortable beds (despite being bunk beds), and clean bathrooms.
I believe the dinner service changes daily and includes a first course, a second course, a dessert, and coffee. In my case, as a vegetarian, I chose tagliatelle with cream and zucchini, polenta accompanied by local cheeses, and a panna cotta with berries. Everything was excellent and the portions generous. Breakfast was perhaps a little sparse (yogurt, cereal, toast) and lacked savory options, but since it's self-service, you can easily go back for a second go.
I highly recommend it; the price for half board, considering the quality of the service, is very reasonable!
We felt in a very familiar
and peaceful environment☺️
