Pizzeria La Centenaria In Napoli

Pizza was naturally excellent, old-fashioned service offered a sorbet that was as expensive as the pizza, I don't recommend the sorbet

Ordered the 4 stagioni because of the artichokes, it came without the artichokes. They took the pizza back, and brought it back 2min later with one canned artichoke mangled on top, still room temperature, of course. As an architect, I’m sad to say the ambience is that of a shopping mall restaurant: everything extremely new, light-colored and “plastic”. It’s made to look nice but ends up just feeling cheap and trying too hard. Maybe if the lighting weren’t so white and bright it’d feel more welcoming…

Don Carlo and Giovanni are very good people and a historic pizzeria with excellent pizza and other specialties.

Let me preface this by saying that this is the first review I’ve ever left, I can’t comment on the atmosphere as we took our pizza away but the food and service were spectacular and if you’re in Napoli I can’t recommend this place enough! Easily the best pizza I’ve ever eaten

Came here on a recommendation from our hotel. The food is just fantastic and quite cheap for how big a portion you get. We had starters, pizzas and drinks and paid just over 25€. The waiter was really lovely and patient and we shall definitely be back. Thank you! 🥰

The pizzas were truly excellent and the waiter very friendly; this pizzeria easily rivals its famous neighbor upstairs. Well done!

Ive been living in naples for 5 years now tried all the pizzas this is by far the best pizzeria in naples you wont regret it , real neapolitan pizza.

I really enjoyed the food there; the pizza was fantastic, the atmosphere was pleasant, and it's definitely worth a visit. The service was very friendly and attentive, and they also had a good beer. So, all in all, I went home satisfied and well-fed.

Everything is good, the place is beautiful and they are also kind.

Found this Pizzeria during my and my friends' trip to Napoli. The food was absolutely delicious, they had a mix of traditional and modernised pizzas and not a single one of them disappointed. The pizzas were all very large and filling and the dough was so fluffy and lovely that even I, who normally discards the crusts, ended up eating the whole thing. I got the Lasagna pizza which has minced meat and ricotta, perfect for anyone who considers themself a carnivore. One of my friends got the Carolina which is a white pizza (no marinara) with panchetta, onions, and provola. Another one of my friends ordered a margherita because she is vegetarian. People who plan to come here should be aware that while this place does have vegetarian options, they are limited. My group never attempted to ask for a pizza with something removed, so I couldn't tell you about the staffs willingness to alter dishes based on dietary requirements. Which brings me to the service. The staff speak a bit of English but any foreigners who want to come here should either have Google Translate locked and loaded or get better at gesturing what they would like just in case. My friends and I had no issues speaking in English to them mixed with a bit of broken Italian and there were no problems. One thing I wasn't very happy with in terms of service was when we showed up as 3 people and asked to be seated, rather than combining 2 tables I was put on the side of the table instead which was a bit uncomfortable with how large the pizzas and the plates were. We were always bumping into eachother, it was very cramped. The pizzas themselves were good enough that it made up for it, but it was just a bit annoying in the moment. The vibes in the restaurant was immaculate. We were seated at the same time as a larger group so there was a very fun, talkative energy. Inside they have a lot of interesting decor, usually consisting of statue hands doing punk symbols, and an interesting collection of what seemed to be ceramic devil horns. Very cute. In the sitting area there is a TV which plays a pop music channel, it was pretty fun to see the music videos playing in the background while me and my friends talked. I especially liked the cups they used on the tables. The multicoloured bumpy glasses pulled together the slightly camp-ey yet cozy feeling of the restaurant. Somethign to note is, while the place accepts walk-ins; they're also pretty popular. My friends and I managed to get there at an "off" moment but by the time we left there was a line in front of the store. If you're planning to go here and don't want to deal with the line, perhaps you would prefer to reserve. Finally, I want to talk about price. Coperto was 1.5 euros which isn't a lot compared to other Italian cities (I don't have a baseline for Napoli yet, but I will update when I do), but it felt like a lot considering the prices of the pizzas. But maybe that's just me :) All in all: positive experience, would reccomend for other people, very delicious.
