23/12/2025: We're in Capalbio, or rather, no: you pass the hamlet of Borgo Carige on the side, and you walk up to the famous village, but you only stop if there's an event going on. And yet, there's (almost) everything, including a small restaurant. I hadn't been there in the last 15 years because it's too close to home, and I wouldn't think of eating out so close. A serious mistake, because the food here is excellent, especially fish, but not exclusively, and you don't have to wash glasses and plates. At the back, hidden from the street, is a covered veranda all year round. The table setting is well-appointed, the service excellent, and the first courses, main courses, and appetizers are all good. I haven't tried the Maremma meat specialties yet. The wine list is interesting, with some from beyond the Alps. Reasonable prices.
