28/08/2024: During our eight-day stay in Florence, we had the pleasure of dining at several restaurants, but none could compare to the experience we had at Osteria Cacio e Vino all’Antico Borgo. Without a doubt, it was the highlight of our culinary journey.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and genuine smiles. Walter, the waiter and husband of the chef, went above and beyond to make us feel at home, ensuring that every detail of our meal was perfect. His attentiveness and deep knowledge of the menu added an extra layer of excellence to our dining experience, offering insightful recommendations that truly elevated our meal.
The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a masterpiece, crafted with the finest ingredients and brimming with authentic Italian flavors. We savored the Pici pasta with white meat sauce and Pecorino cheese fondue, as well as the Grilled Tenderloin in Green Pepper Cream—both cooked to perfection, with rich and flavorful sauces that left a lasting impression. Although we arrived last minute and missed out on dessert, this meal was easily the best we had in Florence. It’s clear that the chef, Walter’s wife, is deeply passionate about her craft, and this passion is evident in every bite.
After spending over a week in Florence, we can confidently say that Osteria Cacio e Vino all’Antico Borgo is a must-visit for anyone seeking a true taste of Italy. Whether you’re a local or a traveler like us, this restaurant offers an experience that is simply unmatched. We will cherish the memories of our time here and will undoubtedly return on our next visit to this beautiful city.
If you’re searching for the best dining experience in Florence, look no further than Osteria Cacio e Vino all’Antico Borgo. It’s a culinary gem that should not be missed.
