Pizza Express In Perugia

I used to go to Pizzeria Express in college and remembered their traditional thin-crust, crispy pizza well. Years later, I ordered takeout and chose the Elba pizza with buffalo mozzarella, mortadella, and chopped pistachios. Before ordering, I called to ask if it was possible to have it a little thicker, as the very thin version isn't my cup of tea. They offered me the double-crust version, which I gladly accepted. The only downside was the phone call: the lady who answered immediately seemed annoyed and bored by my questions, as if I were asking for something excessive. This unprofessional attitude left me perplexed. Other than that, delivery was very fast, and the double-crust was just the right thickness. The buffalo mozzarella was good, but I wasn't entirely sold on the mortadella. Overall, the pizza was quite salty: I drank a lot that night, which suggests the saltiness could be toned down a bit. The price was excellent: around €11 including delivery, truly competitive.

We went for dinner with a group of friends. We ate wonderfully. The first courses were delicious and plentiful. The pizzas were thin and crispy, just the way we Perugians like them. The owner was incredibly welcoming and the service impeccable. I recommend booking on weekends. We'll be back.
