Pier Dickens In Venezia

18/07/2024: The food was great, and the service was exceptional. But we were not expecting to also be entertained. In a tourist city like Venice, it is not uncommon to meet hardened, disinterested service people. Here the staff made the whole experience fun! They were extremely outgoing, engaging, humorous, witty; and seemed to be genuinely interested in us. This restaurant is small, with seating for no more than 50 or 60 people. At 7:15 we saw people without reservations being told to come back in two hours. Make a reservation on their website! Not only was the food good, it was also very reasonable priced, especially for Venice. We started with Bruschetta with our cocktails while we decided what to order. The Buratta salad was perfect for us to share. For entrees we selected Spaghetti Carbonara and Pappardelle with Bolognese sauce. I never order Carbonara at home because it is always pasty, but theirs was rich and creamy. The Bolognese was also very good. They offer good quality house wines at a very reasonable price.

07/07/2024: Whilst walking around Venice on our last day we were looking for somewhere for lunch. We chose this restaurant because it was very busy which normally indicates it should be good. We were not disappointed, whilst we waited a long time to be served, the wait was worthwhile. I had a delicious spaghetti carbonara and my wife had spinach ravioli both were excellent.
