Piazza Umbrella In Catania

Pizza with umbrellas hanging on it... it seems like a recent thing, not particularly connected to Catania. Nice.

Piazza Umbrella, originally named Piazza Santa Maria dell’Indirizzo, is named for the hundreds of colorful umbrellas hanging in the square and surrounding alleys, and has become Catania's most popular photo spot. These brightly colored umbrella art installations, initiated by local artists, create a dreamlike interplay of light and shadow under the intense sunlight, romantic and vibrant, forming a striking contrast with the surrounding classical architecture.

A very beautiful and characteristic square in the very centre with many places to eat and drink and many colourful umbrellas that make the square very characteristic

From my very first visit, I knew this place was special—I ended up coming back for the next 4 days in a row 😄 The pistachio pizza is incredibly original and absolutely delicious. Honestly, all the pizzas I tried were amazing. The service was also excellent—friendly and welcoming. It’s always busy, which just proves how good this place is!
