I recommend this place for three main reasons: the ambiance and tranquility, the service, and, above all, the value for money. The cuisine is traditional Tuscan, even tastefully reworked, and there's a wide selection of wines for both wine lovers and true connoisseurs. Try this place, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. The place was welcoming, well-decorated, and clean. Service was prompt. The food was cut like butter and well-seasoned. My wife had a starter with various tastings, well-made and beautifully presented. Definitely worth a try.

A location rooted in the city's fabric. A complete, modern renovation of a historic Florentine restaurant. A perfect blend of spacious and intimate spaces. Open-plan kitchens and ceiling-high Gino wines. The menu is predominantly meat-based, but with attention to aesthetic and tasteful details. Refined and unexpected flavor combinations. Excellent service. Fairly priced. Excellent!

Recommended by the staff at our B&B, close to the Mandela Forum and therefore very convenient for eating before concerts, it has a splendid location (a former Sidol factory renovated maintaining many details of the original structure... Excellent menu called Conviviale with tastings of appetizers style Spanish tapas of excellent quality... Amazing wine selection... prices ok... highly recommended

The place is so beautiful I could live there. Warm, welcoming, and glamorous, I really don't know how I didn't discover it before. Friendly, fast, and efficient service. The menu is short, with just a few dishes, but well-made and portions that are truly enormous. You definitely won't leave hungry. I had the appetizer with all the tastings, which weren't tastings but actual dishes. Honorable mention goes to the tartare and the vegetable tart. Next up was the stuffed chicken, amazing, with a side dish. A bottle recommended by the sommelier, an amazing Sirah, and to finish, a Sospiro, an excellent house wine. Finishing with an amazing pistachio semifreddo. A wonderful place!!!! Worth it

17/02/2026: Location: A spacious restaurant 30 seconds from the train station and very close to the historic center of Pontassieve. It features two main rooms, a small private area, and an outdoor area adjacent to the main road in the summer. The interior is decorated in a rustic, welcoming, and warm Tuscan style. Food: The menu features both seafood and meat dishes (though not predictable), but the pizza is my favorite. It's well-risen and easy to digest. The menu offers a wide variety of tasty and innovative options, often based on seasonal ingredients. A staple in several courses is the bardiccio, a typical local sausage, flavorful and definitely worth trying. Service: Courteous, punctual, and helpful. In summary: My wife and I often frequent Bastian Contrario for the excellent variety of pizzas they offer, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the attention to ingredients, and the beer pairings.
