I had a really good meal here — especially the mixed wild salad, the cacio e pepe, and the Jewish ricotta cherry pie were all excellent. As a solo female traveler, it’s always really appreciated when the service is as warm and welcoming as it was here. Especially the young waiter with perfect English and his charming service made me feel very welcome – a thank you to him!

My favorite place in Rome for traditional yet unique food, great place to try something new! The lamb coratella and pork liver wrapped in caul fat were incredible, truly memorable. Don't let the fact that they are organs scare you away. The lamb coratella may be more suited for palates that are not used to eating organs/offal than the pork liver but both were prepared beautifully. My husband had the braised veal brisket which was tender and in a light curry like sauce. I will miss them when I am home!

Sensational from start to finish. Salads and foraged vegetables the equals to the fantastic meat and pasta dishes. Tiramsu also historic.

This isn't a restaurant, it's a temple, and it should be treated as such. Let yourself be guided by the man who used to be called the host, and take exactly what he recommends.
He has a care for the ingredients, far from the Testaccio average, and incredible pairings.

Food was killer. Service was a bit MIA. Not the best patio, certainly not the worst. Great for a date situation/nicer dinner in a less touristy area of town.

Non è un posto turistico, nonostante la location, in centro a Testaccio, quindi si mangia bene e le porzioni sono corrette e non eccessive, come capita spesso e volentieri.

Vado al Piatto Romano quando voglio mangiare bene o stupire i miei commensali per la attenzione, lo studio, la ricerca dei prodotti che in questo ristorante sono sempre di altissimo profilo, come il pannicolo di cavallo, la masticanza di erbe selvatiche, il maiale nero certificato, la frutta esotica.
Una vera oasi di buona tavola.
