Pianostrada Laboratoriodicucina In Roma

This is a great special occasion restaurant in Rome and we visited twice on 2 separate trips approx 8 months apart. Let’s start with the atmosphere - it’s stunning, like a garden oasis in the heart of Trestevere. The service is very relaxed and for those who are unaccustomed to the leisurely pace to which things move at Italian restaurants, it can seem slow, but what I’ve found is that unlike in the US, they don’t rush their guests. They take great pride in what they serve and although some dishes are a miss, there are some amazing items on the menu worth trying. The focaccia is definitely worth ordering and is enough to share with 3 - on my latest visit I enjoyed the ‘saltimboca’ which was delicious - they said it gets cooked ‘medium,’ but was definitely on the rare side which was ok for me, but may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The prices are high, even by Rome standards but I do feel like the quality of their food matches the price. The tiramisu is maybe the best we had in Rome. I’ll look forward to coming back here again on our next visit.

The food was very good, and the place was very nice, perhaps a little expensive, especially the wine whose glass was no less than €16.

Wonderful location, very friendly staff and exceptional food

A truly beautiful place, with attention to detail, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Even though I only had tea with biscuits and my girlfriend a glass of wine and focaccia, we were able to see the quality and care of a place where nothing is left to chance, a place where you can feel so much love and passion. We will be back to eat!

My favorite place for dinner and special occasions in Rome. By far the best focaccia in the world. I love Pianostrada with a passion. You have to go.

Exceptional, best restaurant in Rome!

Gorgeous restaurant and the staff were fantastic! We were at the counter with my friend, we often spoke with the Chef who was very nice and told us about all the dishes :) Speaking of dishes we ordered I think half of the menu and from start to finish everything was perfect, very tasty food. good, preparation of perfect dishes (we were in front of the area and you could see everything). For the price it obviously wasn't the neighborhood pizzeria but it was fine as it was. Keep it up guys you are very good!

Overall the cuisine was creative and most Flavours were good. The setting was absolutely wonderful. But we felt that it was all a bit too forced. We also felt rushed. In 30 minutes we received 3 primi and in 1 hour we were basically done with our dinner. They seemed a bit nervous. Not very “piano”.

We after having eaten at two other places in Rome were looking forward to this, however what we found unfortunately disappointed. Table settings are quite uncomfortable from both a sitting point of view but also positioning….. my husband felt like he was staring at other people the whole night. Service was ok……however for the prices would have expected full service (ie. wines being refilled). Food, some really great some average. Focaccia was very big and flavours didn’t go. My husband’s lamb was very good. My fish was good but the potato served was cold and over salted. Desert was really great.
