We had a very good dinner. We shared a table with another couple. Very well served and very good meat. Very reasonable price.

We dropped by for lunch while on a day trip to Sienna. We tried to make reservations by phone a few days before our visit but no one ever picked up. Fortunately, we got there right at open and got a table. The beef carpaccio dish was raw slices of fresh beef with what appeared to be some fragrant red peppercorns. I enjoyed it with the addition of the tableside salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Although I enjoyed it, it was served in a very minimalist state and I would not recommend it to anyone who doesn't like blue rare steak. The pici was good and seemed to be homemade since it had more texture and a somewhat healthier grain-forward flavor. The tripe was also very soft, savory, and quite neutral. If you don't like offal (organ meat), this dish would actually be a good introduction to it!

I was there on the weekend and at first had the impression that there were no more seats left – the waiter said there was only space inside. Luckily, I was able to sit down at a table next to a very nice woman – it was a lovely encounter.
The outside seating is truly charming in a small alley – typical Tuscan flair. The atmosphere is relaxed, a bit narrow, but very authentic.
The pasta cacio e pepe was fantastic – for only €8, truly one of the best I've ever eaten! It came with a glass of Chianti – very well-matched. The tiramisu was only €5 and was also really delicious.
The water was €2. What I found a bit disappointing was that I didn't get any bread, even though it's supposed to be served with pasta – whether that was because I sat down, I don't know. I certainly felt I deserved it.
The first server (a waitress) was unfortunately quite dismissive and not very friendly. I don't speak Italian and I'm German—maybe that was the reason, but it shouldn't have been a reason. It wasn't until two Italian men sat down later and we started chatting that the waitress suddenly became noticeably nicer, even to me. That was a shame, because the rest of the experience was really great.
But overall: A real insider tip!
Delicious, honest food at great prices, right in the heart of Siena. I'll definitely be back—and maybe make a reservation next time, as it fills up quickly.

A beautiful, traditional Tuscan osteria. Excellent hospitality and service. High-quality, generous portions at a fair price! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

Il ristorante è molto carino ed offre piatti tipici, la carne eccezionale, ho preso una tagliata al sangue perfetta e ben condita e saporita, non mi hanno entusiasmato i pici al ragù non troppo saporiti. Prezzi giusti

Peccato..quando andiamo a Siena è una tappa " fissa" questa osteria!
Ma purtroppo ieri abbiamo voluto assaggiare sia la tartara come antipasto e la carne non ci è piaciuta purtroppo tanti nervi e non è assolutamente piacevole.
Poi la tagliata era insipida,piena di calli e nervature...insomma da dimenticare.
Peccato perché è la prima volta che restiamo delusi
