Peppo In Bari

I was tempted to check this place out when I saw good reviews of this restaurant and its menu online. Unfortunately, it has not met my expectations. One reason was the food we ordered (beef tartar was way below our expectations + two pastas we had were extremely salty, sadly). When we flagged that pasta was salty and one of them was literally impossible to be eaten, the waiters said that this pasta is always salty because of the cheese they use in it. We insisted for him to try it as it was definitely not the cheese but pure salt added by a chef. The waiter said that we can change one pasta for a different one, and after 10 minutes we got really tasty dish (similar to ravioli, stuffed with ricotta cheese). But when it came to paying the bill, we were charged for all 3 pastas... This was just not nice... I mean, we did not eat that salty pasta at all as it was simply not possible and we get charged for it?! Really bad aftertaste:( I wouldn't go back there again but it is only my opinion. Overall score: 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent dinner to end a long tiring journey but with constantly changing views Foggia Troia Bari

Having just returned from New Year's Eve dinner, I must say beyond all expectations: stratospheric appetizers, so-so first courses, fish.....not really. Overall, however, a very good dinner, the excellences raise the average, in a nice and well-furnished environment, with cutlery and sets of new and very pleasant dishes. The dinner took place with the musical accompaniment of a good duo, the singer's voice was beautiful and the guitarist and the arrangements he made were also good, with a very respectable repertoire; but the problem that arises with live music is that in a small venue, full of people, with many objects that increase the reverberation, it was practically impossible to talk and you couldn't hear yourself 5 cm away. Anyway, the manager Francesco is a very helpful guy, the staff are close-knit and impeccable. I recommend the place, and I will definitely go back.

Restaurant that offers traditional dishes with a modern and gourmet twist. We ordered orecchiette with turnip greens, sea bream and grilled octopus (we didn't take a photo). We appreciate the effort to re-propose traditional Bari dishes in a modern key, but we didn't like some things about the dishes. The turnip top cream that seasoned the pasta was too liquid, and there were too few turnip tops and confit tomatoes. However, we didn't like the addition of fresh cherry tomatoes to the dish. Moving on to the second courses, they were both very beautiful to look at, but the octopus was overcooked. The sea bream, however, was the best dish we ate. On both second courses, however, a little more attention to detail is needed: the creams were cold in both dishes, and even the chard that accompanied the octopus were not really heated before being served. Overall a sufficient experience, we expected much more reading the menu and, above all, seeing the appearance of the dishes that passed around us while we chose what to order. With a little more attention to detail Peppo can become an excellent restaurant.

Nice place that we discovered by chance, very good quality food, it was the first time I tried the amatriciana spaghetti and I thought they were delicious. Good presentation and exact quantity. We also ordered a potato salad and the famous orecchiette. Very friendly and attentive waiters.

Il posto è piccolino molto carino Cibo strepitoso preso cura nei minimi dettagli. Consiglio e spero di ritornarci presto.

Restaurante agradable con mesas cómodas y amplias que cuenta con buen servicio y buenas pastas. Nos gustó mucho la carbonara.
