We returned to this restaurant after 20 years and left feeling a mixture of satisfaction and sadness. Satisfaction, undoubtedly, for the truly excellent quality of the food; sadness for the quality of the service and the restaurant. The staff was tired and unenthusiastic, lacking any real verve, and the restaurant even saw the owner, at the end of the meal, come from the kitchen to sort out his accounting: a lack of respect and tact towards the few customers still in the dining room. Details that make the difference.

I visited Pepe Verde restaurant in Rome with fairly high expectations, and I must say the experience was overall very positive. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a warm and informal atmosphere, perfect for both a dinner with friends and something more relaxed. I immediately appreciated the attention to detail: the restaurant is simple but well-maintained, with an authentic feel reminiscent of Roman tradition. The staff was friendly and helpful from the start, ready to recommend dishes and explain the menu without being intrusive. As for the food, I was truly satisfied. I tried some typical Roman dishes, and the quality of the ingredients was clearly evident. The portions were generous, and the flavors were well-balanced, without being overbearing but full of character. In particular, I found the pasta dishes to be truly well-prepared, perfectly cooked and richly seasoned. The value for money also seemed fair, considering the location and the overall quality of the experience. It's not your typical tourist destination: you can sense a certain attention to maintaining an authentic identity. If I had to find a small flaw, perhaps the wait wasn't the fastest, but it wasn't anything that ruined the evening. All in all, I would happily return to Pepe Verde and recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Roman cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere, unpretentious but with plenty of substance.

The atmosphere is welcoming and clean. We've had a bit of everything, on various occasions. We've never been disappointed. We always love returning. The good value for money is also not to be underestimated.

Last night I had dinner at Pepe Verde and had pizza for the first time. Every dish I've had here has always been excellent, but it's been a lifetime since I've had such a good pizza. The dough is thin and well-cooked, and especially well-seasoned, but with a thin, crispy crust I've never had before. For those who, like me, love thin-crust pizza, I absolutely recommend Pepe Verde. The supplì, too, is excellent in flavor and not greasy. Thank you.

We ate here three evenings during our holiday. Pizza, pasta, grill. We enjoyed everything. They also have puntarelle salad.

My go-to restaurant when I go to Rome

Excellent value for money, I had two first courses: spaghetti with Cetara anchovies, pachino tomatoes, olives, capers, and gricia with artichokes, both excellent. The owner was helpful and courteous, and the service was efficient.

We've been going to Pepe Verde Pizzeria for years now, and every time we go, we always find the staff incredibly friendly and a warm welcome, plus the pizza...simply delicious!
