Pazzaglia In Terni

Wonderful cafe, friendly service, delicious pastries and very reasonable prices for such a central location. They also have a restaurant for lunch. The menu looks lovely but we only had coffee and a pastry. Note the restaurant entrance is by the cash register. The staff were very patient with my lack of Italian. I highly recommend Pazzaglia.

It's a joy to see that at least this city's flagship has survived, frozen in time. For over 45 years, when I've been in Terni, it's been a must-visit, a guarantee of quality. The savory oval canapés are the same ones I adored as a child, and the selection of pastries and mini-cakes is always excellent. There aren't the spectacular modern creations you see everywhere these days, but rather a high-quality traditional pastry shop with a varied selection. Friendly and fast service at the counter, and a wide selection of outdoor tables, including on the veranda. I hope this historic venue remains an unchanged landmark for at least another century.

Pazzaglia is a perfect example of how prime locations are never fully capitalized by the proprietors. Nothing more disappointing than being exposed to commercial naivety and in this case, further aggravated by the owner lording over his staff with constant criticism and insults. If your staff is incompetent, fire them and do it yourself but please don’t force your views onto the patrons who quite frankly don’t give a damn about your self-inflicted pain! Notwithstanding, it’s a great spot for people watching and enjoying a summer aperitif.
