Past'Ovo In Messina

Had a fantastic lunch here. Octopus salad and pasta made on site. It was amazing - so fresh and tasty. Some of the best food we experienced in a few weeks in Sicily.

The chef was very nice, offering the menu in Italian and English. The pasta is freshly prepared on-site, by hand. We had caponata as a starter, typically Sicilian, fresh, and incredibly delicious. For main course, we had scialatielli with swordfish and macaroni with eggplant. Both dishes were perfectly cooked al dente and tasted amazing. I had a red craft beer from Sicily to drink, and I highly recommend it. The price at Past'Ovo is more than fair, considering the location and the freshness of the food and ingredients. In other cities, you would have paid at least one and a half times more just for the view of the cathedral.

Delicious pasta and a quiet atmosphere near the Messina Cathedral. Seating is available, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The paccheri all'eoiana and fettuccine al nero di calamari are delicious. Highly recommended, and the prices are affordable!

Great place for a quick and easy bite. Excellent first courses and very helpful staff. Unfortunately, it's given 3 stars because we ate at bare tables, not even a paper placemat. It's self-service, and despite the lack of amenities, we paid €2 per person for the cover charge. Overall, it's not bad, but the table issue could be addressed, or at least placemats could be provided to justify the cover charge.

The generous portions with fresh products are all accompanied by courtesy and friendliness!

Consiglio davvero questo ristorante per chi volesse assaggiare i tipici piatti messinesi e siciliani. La pasta fresca dava davvero l’idea di qualcosa di artigianale e sano!Ottima accoglienza , e anche il garbo nel saper spiegare le ricette dei piatti. Prezzi onesti, un bellissimo biglietto da visita per la nostra città! Ho fatto contenti i miei amici campani e sono riuscita a fare un riassunto culinario delle nostre tradizioni . Bravi!
