I've been going there for 30 years. It's not a place for everyone!

I enjoyed my coffee and croissant Al Banco. Very good energy behind the bar. Given I was standing, my order was fast tracked. However, I asked for a Cortado and was suggested a flat white which turned out to be closer to a cafe latte at €4.80.
Given the pretensions of the place, this was a bit of a fail. If you use an international term like flat white please 🙏 get the fundamentals right:
The AI bit:
A Cortado features a roughly 1:1 espresso-to-milk ratio, with minimal foam, for a strong, balanced taste.
A Flat White has a slightly higher ratio, around 1:2, with thin, velvety microfoam that creates a smooth, coffee-forward drink.
A Cappuccino uses roughly equal parts of espresso, steamed milk, and thick, airy foam (a 1:2 total ratio by volume), resulting in a frothy, balanced classic.
Finally, the Café Latte is the mildest, with a high ratio of 1:3 or more milk to espresso and a shallow foam layer, offering a creamy, mellow experience.

It's all very good. Weekends are always very crowded, but that's a consequence of the excellent quality of the products. What I find unacceptable is the rudeness, and the last time I visited, there was a truly unkind waitress. And it's not a matter of rushing things, as one reviewer commented; she was downright rude and impolite. I won't be returning. I also made a bad impression on the foreign guest who was with me, who was shocked.

A historic pastry shop in Milan, it's particularly popular on weekends, so be prepared to wait in line during peak hours (especially at breakfast).
It's also lovely for an aperitivo, especially in the outdoor garden.
Special mention goes to the freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and the truly excellent cream brioches.
The savory quiches are also very good.

The pastry quality is unquestionable and highly recommended, but I find the prices too high even considering the livability of the place. A brioche and cappuccino cost more than 7 euros, which I find a bit expensive for breakfast.

The best brioche in Milan, top-notch warm pastry and fresh cream!!!
The prices are very fair considering the quality, so it's truly among the best.
It's a shame about the rudeness!!!
Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

I don't understand the negative reviews. The brioche itself was delicious, the cream was plentiful and not cloying. The waiters aren't rude at all, they're just in a hurry. The place is crowded, you can tell from the outside. If you don't like this somewhat chaotic environment, you can easily choose to eat elsewhere. I really enjoyed the experience of having breakfast at this historic Milanese pastry shop. The prices are indeed a bit exaggerated: €3 for a coffee and €1 for a glass of water are unjustified.
