Pasticceria Mignon In Bologna

Wonderful experience. I stopped by a few days ago to get their cinnamon rolls, at the suggestion of a friend. I met the pastry chef, who I believe is also the owner, and with a rare kindness and elegance these days, he explained to me that they only make them at the end of the week. He was kind enough to ask if I wanted them put aside, and today when I went back to get them and also had one for breakfast, I must admit that I've had one of the best cinnamon rolls in Bologna so far. The cappuccino was also perfect. Furthermore, the pastry chef, seeing me eating breakfast at the table, politely asked if I liked the flavor. I found this attention to customer service wonderful, especially because these days we often forget how to combine courtesy and politeness given the historical and social times. So much so, that I later ordered another to take with me on my travels. And I can't wait to visit them again! Superb dough, softness, and deliciously balanced filling, and above all, excellent prices—a rarity in Bologna these days. I'm sure they've become my go-to and favorite pastry shop in Bologna! Stopped in with my photographer colleague for a cappuccino and pasta for me and a cappuccino and pasta for her. The cappuccino and pastries were excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was a bit dated, but not uncomfortable. Overall, we had a good time. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent.

Full marks for a true destination for those who love traditional desserts. A very vintage pastry shop, but the service is pleasant and courteous. Also open on Sundays.
