The brioches are delicious but the cappuccinos are really not, too much foam and frothy For the rest everything was very good Tip: ask for a cappuccino with very little foam and maybe you'll drink a little milk 🥴

Having entered by chance in the hope of finding a cappuccino with plant-based milk, I instead discovered several vegan options, including a very good red fruit swirl. The croissants were beautiful too. It would be nice to offer not only jams but also creams and chocolate as veg fillings. Excellent service and location

The pastries were delicious, and the employee was helpful and friendly. Two other employees were really not friendly and we didn't feel welcome. Unfortunately, that didn't make the visit particularly positive.

La Ghera in Lucca, under new management for some years, is a bar/pastry shop with excellent products and reasonable prices, like in many places in Lucca. The milk cream of the cappuccino and the Macchiatone in a large cup is excellent, as is the Hausbrandt roasting of the superior quality and organic coffee. The breakfast croissants were very good, both empty and filled, even vegan. Among my favorites is the puff pastry swirl with raisins and cream cooked in the oven. The room with the tables is not very large, so service is not provided but you pick up the pastry and coffee and bring it to the table, therefore without paying for the service. The staff is smiling, polite and kind. The bartender was very good. I have never taken advantage of either the frugal lunch or the evening cocktails. After all, it's a pastry shop...

Big Bamboo

06/07/2024: I visited this restaurant twice at the end of June 2024. This restaurant is visited mostly by locals, and has excellent quality food, but reasonable prices. It is not one of the polished restaurants that you will find on the marina, but the food was extremely good. I had fritto misto, and it was tasty, not oily and reasonabily priced. The first time we were sitting on a balcony, on the second floor, not visible from the road. A quiet place. the second time under a marque on the road. a pleasant place surprisingly quiet. The owners were very friendly, as were the waitresses. I would certianly return and have lunch here.

27/08/2024: Good and plentiful dishes, fair price. Location in a strategic area, practically a stone's throw from the beach (the TOP! dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea). However, in my opinion, the service needs to be reviewed, with delays and oversights
27/08/2024: I went a few years later for my sister-in-law's birthday party. The place is nice with a terrace overlooking the sea, excellent air on summer evenings. Mainly I believe that the place was created for an aperitif or aperitif in case of special parties. On the terrace there is musical entertainment, perfect for after dinner but intrusive during dinner, music too loud, you can't understand anything when you talk to the person next to you. Mainly we ate a classic platter with some cold cuts, of which the raw one was not particularly appreciated by some diners, it had a strange taste and smell, accompanied by some bruschetta, olives, mozzarella, cheese and hot focaccia. Good fried pasta, with grilled sausage and chips. The two first courses, half sleeves with ragù, paccheri with fish sauce, inedible, practically raw, put on and take off immediately. A note also on the ragù, it had a slightly acidic flavour. The sore point were the bathrooms. If you don't want to catch illnesses, avoid going, something beyond all logic, it felt like walking on a floor of urine, not to mention the rest. My husband had to use paper just to touch the handle. People suck and we know this, but there should be greater attention from the venue. From midnight the place fills up, chaotic and long queues at the checkout. Nice for a quick drink, for me to stay in short. Friendly and helpful staff and owner.
