Pasticceria Dolce Idea In Tivoli

Amazing pastries! We stayed in a rental nearby and visited the bakery everyday! The friendliest customer service we’ve experienced in Italy!

We stumbled upon this pastry shop almost by chance on a sweltering summer day, after a long visit to nearby Hadrian's Villa. Extremely thirsty, we noticed it, empty of customers besides us (the date, time, and weather were prohibitive). We decided to stop for two Cokes. We quickly noticed a tempting array of delicacies, sweets, pastries, and ice creams (we were also on a strict diet). I sense that the specialties can be very good, when a corpulent gentleman in a vest enters, orders a tray with 5 or 6 pastries, sits down at a table and begins to savor - all alone - such a delight for his palate... My companion, then, greedy and envious of what was happening next to her, decides to try at least one of the house's artisanal ice cream... I think it was the best ice cream (and I'm limiting myself to that) I've ever tasted in my life... exceptional, with a wide variety of flavors and very original names, a true taste experience, unique!!! Too bad we're so far away... congratulations!!!
