Have had multiple cakes from this store - each, for a special occasion, each, delicious and beautifully crafted. Service is excellent. The pastry chef exceptional. Will be returning again. Unconditionally recommended.

La Taverna Del Grande Albero

14/01/2025: Suggestive location in the "heart" of Catania baroque, near Piazza Stesicoro. The owner Chiara welcomes you with kindness and professionalism. Excellent dishes with selected and genuine ingredients. The winner is... "Spaghetti alla carbonara"; the spaghetti is perfect for absorbing the creamy sauce, giving it a uniform flavor. The ingredients (pasta, bacon, pecorino romano, eggs, salt and black pepper) are excellent. Excellent quality/price ratio. Mandatory stop if you come to visit Catania.
11/01/2025: REVELATION!!!!! I will never listen to the opinion of the Maklowicz family or other Maciej families again. Celebrity clowns who record only to reach colorful places and probably get money from pubs for it. Coming back to the place (which was not recommended by any pseudo-connoisseur), I ordered swordfish and my wife ordered ravioli with ricotta and burratta. Definitely the best thing we ate in Catania. I absolutely recommend it.
