I went to see the sights and on the way back I looked for something to eat. This pastry shop jumped out at me. I had the classic canolo, which was huge, costing about 3 euros. Filled with ricotta and sprinkled with almonds and there were even a few pieces of chocolate inside. The ricotta smells like the animal it comes from and is not whipped with gas, which gives the ricotta a strange taste, so I rate it positively. The wafer tastes like citrus.

Historic pastry shop that boasts the largest typical desserts in Messina, excellent quality and honest prices. Friendly and helpful staff. I've been going there since I was little, in my opinion among the best.

05/07/2025: Good food. More than fair prices.
23/05/2025: Quaint, very local establishment in the tiny enclave of Serre di Rapolano. Lucky for us it was the only restaurant open in the town that accommodated our group of 5. I imagine the server was perhaps tired from a long day of serving and we were the last customers at almost 10pm. So although the service suffered a bit, the food was great!

13/07/2025: Sunday lunch, a set menu with over a dozen local appetizers, all locally sourced and produced on the farm, a first course with a fantastic sausage ragù, a second course with stewed sausage and zucchini, homemade wine, and a Malvasia passito wine with homemade biscuits. All for €30 per person. If you want to taste a slice of Sicily, this is the place!
23/06/2025: Wonderful place with vineyards and olive groves. Very tasty dishes made with products of the same farm from courgettes to tomatoes etc. including wine and oil produced by the owner, a very kind and helpful person. Very clean rooms with all comforts. I highly recommend it.
