One of the best pastry shops in Europe. Historic venue frequented by James Joyce. To visit, taste, to dream with your eyes and mouth open the atmosphere of the "belle époque".

Entering this pastry shop feels like entering a time machine. You will suddenly find yourself in the 19th century... If you close your eyes perhaps in a moment Italo Svevo and James Joyce will enter. Elegant hat on your head and walking stick, they are also here for an excellent coffee and a delicious pastry.

Traditionelle Konditorei im Stil der Monarchie. Zahlreiche köstliche Produkte und top Kaffees lassen das Herz höher schlagen. Der Unterschied zu Österreich ist in einem Punkt verblüffend. Niemand sitzt, unentwegt kommt jemand rein, bestellt, konsumiert im stehen und geht gleich wieder. Ausnahmen sind die Raucher, die im Freien bei Tischerln sitzen.

Antica Trattoria Menarosti

05/06/2025: We had dinner at this restaurant last night. I was attracted by the crab dish on the menu, and I must say it did not disappoint: both the raw fish and the crab were fresh and of excellent quality. The baked fish with potatoes was good, but the portion was a little small and the taste was slightly bland. The place is nice and elegant, with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.
04/06/2025: Our expectations were higher based on the reviews. The waiters are friendly but also trained in 'upselling' trying to sell as much as possible. The risotto wasn't great and the crab was just crab put in a shell. We could be biased as we ate lovely in other restaurants in Trieste.
