Pasticceria Brancato In Siracusa

09/11/2023: WHAT A FIND!! The Onda Blu had included this shop in their food recommendations and it did not disappoint! It is on a side street in Siracusa that we would have easily walked past. This amazing store was designed based on my favorite food store, Peck in Milan. The hand-selected gourmet items included fresh produce, cheese, cured meats, a counter of cold items, and items to take home to heat and serve, as well as pantry items, deserts, and wine. The selections were incredible - all selected from small batch/ local farm producers. We had stopped in for a snack but stayed for lunch of a hand-selected charcuterie board with olives, cheese, and local cured meats, followed by the most delicious Eggplant Norma (a typical dish of eggplant with tomato sauce and ricotta), and a cannoli; each course was paired with a glass of wine. The food and wine were amazing but it was the incredible manager and her daughter, who happened to be on-site and helped translate for us, who really stole the show. If you are a foodie, I can't recommend this shop enough. We ended up selecting 3 cases of wine, oil, and cheese to be shipped home - all from small regional wineries.
