I had the pleasure of visiting the typical restaurant/trattoria of Palagonia Parrà and Sparta with my friends and I must say that it was an exceptional culinary experience. The welcoming and familiar atmosphere immediately made me feel at ease. The menu offered a selection of typical Sicilian dishes, all prepared with fresh, local ingredients I really appreciated that the flavors were authentic and respected the culinary tradition of the region. The service was impeccable, the staff were friendly, attentive and available to provide advice on dishes and wines to pair. We chose a local wine recommended by the sommelier and owner Andrea and it turned out to be a great choice. To conclude, the typical restaurant of Palagonia Parrà e Sparra is definitely a place to visit if you want to taste true Sicilian cuisine. The quality of the food, the welcoming atmosphere and the impeccable service make this an unforgettable dining experience. Spesso usciamo con mia moglie, alla ricerca di quei ristorantini, o trattorie, dove ancora ha importanza il cibo e non ci sono le file fuori e per farlo scegliamo a caso un paese dell'hinterland catanese e lo esploriamo. Finiamo a Palagonia e notiamo un piccolo ristorantino, dove veniamo accolti con il sorriso da una gentilissima ragazza, che scopriremo essere la figlia del titolare. Scegliamo dal menù consigliati dalla ragazza e pochi minuti dopo arriva un omone molto simpatico che ci dice di essere il proprietario, ex camionista e in quanto tale, uno che sa come mangiare bene. Ci racconta un po' della sua vita e ci spiega come il ristorante sia a gestione familiare, infatti la figlia serve ai tavoli, lui dirige ed intrattiene i clienti, la moglie è in cucina. Per farla breve, abbiamo preso un antipasto con olive fritte (mai provate prima) deliziose, un primo, un secondo (le carni provengono dalla macelleria del suocero) contorni e gli amari, che ci vengono omaggiati. Grande qualità del cibo a km 0, preparato con maestria, grande simpatia dell'oste e per finire il prezzo pagato è assolutamente modesto. Che dire, torneremo presto a Palagonia e andremo a mangiare da Parra e Sparra (anche se in effetti non c'è nulla di cui sparlare)! Consigliatissimo!
