For a takeaway sandwich, this works great! You compose your sandwich yourself (bread, cold meats, cheese, sauce and vegetables). A bit like the subway except that here you can taste what you put in your sandwich before! I put 4 because I find the price a little high for a sandwich (12€), as good as it is. Especially since looking on Google, we realize that it was around €6-8 not so long ago…

genuinely the best sandwich in the world. The service was great we got to taste our meat options. The staff were all great specifically the older gentleman who helped find us seating. Get the porchetta.

The food was great, especially the service. You were allowed to taste the meat to see which one you wanted on your sandwich. In addition, the location provides a good atmosphere.

Delicious panini sandwich. Unique in that they have you try the meats and cheeses before you add them to your sandwich. Yummy. Very friendly staff.

I return to this place because I love their paninis, every time I come to Florence I try to eat here but today the girl who served me offered me a tasting and while I was making it I decided with my mother, when I got to the cheese part alone He gave me one to try and he placed it on the bread that he had not chosen but since he had already cut it you didn't want to say anything to him 😔 his attention left a lot to be desired, I left the place with very bad taste.

I went here twice it was so good. Best sandwhich Ive probably ever had. I had pecorino with peppers, tomatoes, ruccola, and some pesto, and man oh man, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Super lovely people that work here too!

12/06/2024: I left Sicily to taste their lampredotto, they prepared it in front of me and it was a discovery of fantastic flavours, they are also very kind and friendly, excellent service, I recommend stopping to eat at L'Trippaio di Sant'Ambrogio, in is worth
11/06/2024: Got here at 10 on a Friday, looking for a quick brekkie. Yes, we were eating tripe sandwiches for brekkie. When in Florence right? Everything was just freshly made. Seems as though they were just opening. The tripe was ready, so we ordered one of those, and we wanted to try the tongue, which JUST finished cooking. It was freshly sliced for our panini. Both were good but I preferred the tripe. The tongue needed more flavor. Perhaps some more salt, or some more of the red/green sauce? I do really like the shop in Central Market but if you’re at Sant’Ambrogio, this is still a good spot for lampredotto.

28/08/2024: I can’t remember the last time I was sad that a meal had finished, the food was that good! The restaurant has a wonderful setting covered in vintage tourism posters from all over the world, and as you walk down the stairs you walk past the open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. The atmosphere is calm and even with a full restaurant it wasn’t loud. The service was impeccable, with the waiting staff on hand to help with menu recommendations and the appropriate wine to complement your dish choices. We went for three pasta dishes, the spinach gnocchi with sage and butter, the cannelloni ‘buca lapi’, and the fettuccine with veal ragu. They were all spectacular with the veal fettuccine the stand out dish for me. The menu offers a variety of Tuscan and Florentine dishes so what ever you choose you’re in for a great experience! Highly recommend!
21/08/2024: It remains one of the top restaurants in Florence, a tested menu with tasty recipes, a guarantee!!!
