It sells a lot of good things, but the bombolone is really top notch.

Quality products, but tonight I was extremely disappointed. I live abroad, and on my last night there, I wanted to enjoy a ricotta and chocolate chip bombolone. Before heading to the restaurant, I checked the page, and everything seemed normal. Leaving from Messina, I arrived at the restaurant at 11:00 PM and was told that dessert would be served at midnight. Update your Instagram page to avoid unnecessary travel and broken dreams.

Manzella Bakery is a guarantee. From sweet to savory, everything is delicious, with generous portions and rich fillings. I recommend trying the typical Messina pidone. The arancini with ragù and the panini are also excellent. The croissants and bomboloni are also a delight. The staff is friendly and impeccable. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean.

In a simple setting (tables with paper placemats, plastic cups and cutlery), you have the perfect opportunity to sample all the delicious things Messina's rotisserie has to offer. Let's start with the classic Pidone, with or without anchovies. Delicious in both versions (the traditional and the XL size). The version with ham is also good. The pizza is good, followed by excellent arancini, mozzarella in carrozza, and to finish on a sweet note, the super bomboloni with Nutella, Chantilly cream, croissants, etc. Everything is super good in a very welcoming and friendly family atmosphere. Absolutely affordable prices. Highly recommended for those looking for nothing but goodness and substance. The only flaw is the plastic cutlery: too cheap to not offer a recommendation... either come prepared to eat with your hands (certainly not the large Pidone) or come equipped with something more sturdy... by the way, they continue there until late at night.

Back after years, I'm modifying my review. Aside from the bomboloni, the "focaccia" is of poor quality, shaped like a pizza and made with dough that looks anything but focaccia. They no longer make traditional pidoni, but elongated calzones (like the price) at €6.50 each. The arancini are heavy and filled with mappazzone.

It's a very nice place for a night bite. Delicious food. I recommend the classic Bombolone staffed with Nutella. That's amazing.

Family-run business with high-quality products.... The super-famous bomboloni have been around for decades.... Highly recommended.
