The photo speaks for itself: huge, delicious donuts for a truly low price. The 40-minute drive was worth it!

The croissants are delicious, but the wait is endless because the people behind the counter are incredibly slow…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐ 5 stars are not enough for the Manzella family, delicious rustici with a special mention for the traditional calzone, legendary bomboloni... and what can we say about Mr. Piero... simply legendary, he even kept us company by offering us another cream bombolone 😋 and chatting amiably with us. When we arrived we didn't even find a queue, perfect. Summer isn't summer without their goodness

Small place with outdoor seating. Very simple, but the desserts (we didn't try the savory ones) are truly delicious. Their signature dish is the huge bombolone, filled with Nutella or something else, and delicious. Any advice? Bring plenty of tissues, you'll get messy ♥️

Whenever she can, my daughter treats herself to the Nutella or pistachio bomboloni, which she finds delicious. I personally don't like going because the lines are crazy long. They should expand or organize themselves differently.

Focacceria da Biagio

26/08/2025: Overall, the focaccia was good, but not one of the best in Messina. I don't feel like giving it a negative review, but I wouldn't particularly recommend it either.
24/08/2025: I'm from Messina and I love focaccia!! Inspired by some positive reviews, I wanted to try it, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't great! The place isn't anything special: old-fashioned, small, and with no seating inside; only three tables on the sidewalk... so I'd say it's a takeout-only option. The focaccia: the real problem isn't the ingredients, which could be good, but the fact that the focaccia is already all ready on the counter, like in a pizza place... it's placed on baking sheets and kept warm. When the customer arrives and chooses the weight/quantity and type of focaccia, the man cuts the various slices, weighs them, and then puts them in the electric oven behind him for a few minutes; This double or triple baking causes the bottom of the focaccia, and therefore the dough, to become dry and parched, losing all the fragrance and flavor of the true traditional Messina focaccia. Luckily (and the owner will be aware of this) at the end of baking, before wrapping your focaccia, they brush it with oil from a small saucepan, just to soften that dry feeling in the dough... but it doesn't work miracles.
