I had lunch with some friends from Naples (I'm a pure-blood Florentine by generation) we ate an amazing Bistecca a Dire of the highest quality, a starter of TOP cured meats and cheeses, a really good bill, we will definitely be back, compliments to the waitress, she too is TOP FC

They are all very kind and welcoming, a beautiful and comforting experience.

"Nice trattoria, not a tourist trap, but..." The ambiance was good. Unfortunately, it didn't retain the old trattoria charm, but rather a more modern look with lounge music and contemporary furniture. I think it would have been better to stay more rustic and authentic. The food was really very good, and the portions for primi were normal. Antipasti and bread were plentiful! Drinks were also good. Prices were high, but we are in Florence. The food really redeemed it, because the service left much to be desired. No fresh napkins were provided when ours were cleared away; menus were only in English, even though we had asked for Italian; empty drink glasses weren't cleared; when we asked for a proper mixed antipasti platter, we only received a (very good) selection of cold cuts; only one of the servers was willing to offer advice or suggestions, the other (new on the job?) completely forgot about customer service and conversation. Anyone hoping for experienced, friendly, and genuine service and a dynamic atmosphere throughout the evening was disappointed yesterday. I'm torn between giving it 3 and 4 stars overall, but the food really made the place stand out.

Stumbled upon this place and had many great meals here. Came here many times while studying abroad and not a single bad meal! The owner is so sweet and genuine I cannot wait to come back.

Daniel was the most amazing and hospitable man, he was a great host and served us the best food we had in Florence. We had the most amazing experience and hope everyone can find the laugh and joy like we did at Trattoria pale doro.
