The restaurant is still very good, and the service is very friendly. However, the dishes aren't as down-to-earth as they were five years ago. The wine list is only available online and is incredibly long—so long that it's a real chore. The house red wine isn't good, the wine glasses don't clink when you toast them, and there's no water for my dog.

Exceptionally creative and elegant dishes! And an enormous wine selection. You have to scan a QR code to access the wine list. In the end, we opted for the house wine because we found the long wine list overwhelming. Friendly service. Unfortunately, no water was brought for the dog.

21/12/2025: We went to Casale la Piaggia for dinner with friends. The place is truly beautiful and welcoming, and the service was impeccable. The dinner was excellent: truly tasty and well-balanced dishes, a perfect combination of high-quality ingredients and expert preparation. 21/12/2025: Dinner with friends, a wonderful surprise, with a very refined atmosphere. The "whatever you eat" menu is worth trying; I wasn't disappointed. Local produce, or even their own, is served. The price is fair for the dinner offered. There's no à la carte menu, and everything offered is top-quality and seasonal. We'll definitely be back to try other delicious options. Congratulations!

La Grotta

17/04/2026: A historic Pisan restaurant that has had several owners over the years. It gets its name from the papier-mâché rock on the ceiling of the main room, reminiscent of a movie set. The smaller room, however, is furnished in a simple, rustic style. The menu features traditional Pisan and Tuscan dishes with a contemporary twist, as well as new dishes from the kitchen. Both dishes were well executed. Service, after an initial wait of about half an hour, was prompt, attentive, and professional. The selection of wines from the Terre di Pisa region is interesting. Good value.
16/04/2026: A pleasant evening in the center of Pisa, spent eating inside what feels like a cave. The food is good, the atmosphere is reminiscent of an old-fashioned tavern, with straw chairs and tables that sometimes need a wedge to stay level. The waitress was very kind and attentive, accompanying the dishes with a welcoming smile and a very friendly manner. You come here for a break or to slow down; you'll find a good hot dish, well-served, and a place that preserves the flavors of the past.
