Superlative dinner in a spectacular setting.
The family is incredibly hospitable, helpful, and incredibly kind.
You can watch the pig being carved and sit by the fire while it cooks.
The more you look at the sheepfold, the more you discover; every corner holds a surprise, from the wooden sculptures to the fossils embedded in the rock, to the ancient tools. A magical place immersed in nature.
Reservations are required; follow the directions rather than Google Maps: 3 km of well-maintained dirt road, but still difficult for very low cars.
An ABSOLUTELY worthwhile experience if you're in the area.

A charming place set in an old sheepfold. The dishes are typical of local cuisine, excellent, authentic, and extremely generous. The owners are exceptionally kind and helpful, and the already unique atmosphere is further enhanced. It's an ideal starting point for the Selvaggio Blu trek.

Great experience, very good and purely local food. The dirt road getting there is fine for any reasonable private car. Be sure to make a reservation early (by WhatsApp).

A wonderful place, immersed in the nature of the Supramonte di Baunei, it's not just a simple farmhouse offering top-quality traditional Sardinian food, it's an authentic, original, and meticulously maintained oasis. Truly a dream! You can breathe in the true Sardinia! Congratulations. See you soon!

I'll get straight to what we didn't like: after admiring the piglets being roasted, we were served a very fatty, almost inedible porchetta, and considering the setting, we felt cheated.
For everything else, many positives...

An unmissable experience!
Starting with a safari in the forest to get there (the owners offer an excellent shuttle service if needed).
A fixed menu (if you don't like surprises, you can always ask in advance) includes:
abundant and delicious local appetizers;
traditional first courses, even more abundant and even better;
a suckling pig that you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere;
desserts, liqueurs, and coffee, as much as you want.
The atmosphere reflects the local Sardinian pastoral culture, with attention to every detail, making it worth the visit alone.
A warm and genuine welcome.
Highly recommended!

One of the most fascinating places we've ever seen. We came here on the recommendation of a local friend, and we were blown away. The place is quaint, meticulously cared for, and you can sense the authenticity of the place. The sheepfold retains some original features, despite having been modernized in some areas. Pietro picked us up in Baunei: the road is a very long dirt road that starts from the Supramonte and passes through dense holm oak forests, a surreally beautiful environment, not recommended for those with very low cars. The food. Wonderful appetizers (fried pistoccu, which I'd never eaten), local cured meats and cheeses, culurgiones and malloreddos with a fantastic sauce, just like grandma's. Suckling pig and, upon request, roast mutton. And what can I say, we've never had such delicious sebadas! Price including drinks: €40. The phone service isn't very good, so it was a bit more difficult to reach them, and they don't have a POS terminal, but then again, the shepherds in the sheepfold didn't need internet. An experience like this is truly difficult to have, and I highly recommend it to anyone who truly wants to appreciate the flavors and traditions of Ogliastra.
