Osteria Virgilio In Parma

We had a delicious selection of cured meats and two amazing dishes of the day: cod and bread salad. Surprising, full of taste and freshness.

Little gem not too far from the city centre. The pasta was delicious, the sharing boards were great especially the Parma ham. We forgot our umbrella there and the staff went out of their way and cycled to find us after we have left. Amazing service!

This place in Parma is truly perfect for dining and enjoying Italian life: - Location: Lively, multicultural neighborhood with lots of charm. Located in a small, cozy alley. - Food: Small but excellent menu with an additional daily special. Very good selection of vegetarian dishes. The ragu was excellent! - Service (!!!): The best and most friendly service you can imagine. They hand-translated the daily special into English especially for us and took the time to explain various Vino Bianco Frizzante in detail. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! If we're ever in Parma again, we'll be happy to come back!

Very good cuisine with well-adjusted seasonings. Well selected and above all well crafted wines. The service is fast and the staff takes the time to explain the dishes and wines to us. We had a great time!

Andati a pranzo. Locale semplice cosi come il menù e il metodo di fare ristorazione! Sono presenti dei fuori menù… Consigliato per una pausa pranzo dati i tempi di servizio abbastanza veloci! Nulla di cattivo, piatti e qualità nella media… Esperienza neutrale!

Per come mi raccontano l’oltretorrente, la sua storia, lo spirito, l’atmosfera…qui siamo nel posto giusta, con la gente giusta, con i piatti e le bottiglie giuste. Anolini in brodo, pecora cornigliese in un ragù bianco e sorprendentemente con hummus che manco fosse cosa di casa, polpette con yogurt greco che si fanno ricordare per sapore e leggerezza, e i burek e il Virgilio ed i vini che sa proporti dopo averti raccontato i piatti, i fornitori, il territorio e un mondo e un modo che ti entra dolcemente dentro. E il pesto di cavallo…e un prosciutto che ti fa sognare…insomma, mai scelta fu più corretta, come sempre l’investimento nella guida di slow food garantisce ritorni più che positivi.

A wonderful meal in an understated yet excellent osteria ; the quality of the raw materials was superb - outstanding bread, cheese and wine- and the dishes were prepared with skill and care. Lovely friendly service and very good value. I wish this restaurant was in my local neighbourhood!
