Fabulous tortelli, an excellent platter, and a surprising sour cherry panna cotta! And all the expertise of a knowledgeable host who loves his work, capable of recommending and suggesting expert pairings from a highly respected cellar.

Monday evening. In the heart of old Parma. Trattoria. Da Virgilio. Appetizer of cured meats and cheeses. The quality is evident. All of it. Tagliatelle with delicious sheep's milk ragù, creamed cod, simple but full of flavor. The mixed cured meats and cheeses were truly excellent! The desserts, what can I say? I found the baked pear exciting and fresh, and I also tried the sour cherry panna cotta. Superb. The wine, a very good unfiltered Sauvignon from Emilia (perhaps a little pricey). The only flaw was the platter. The coppa was slightly fresh from the aging process. The cheeses, at least the semi-soft ones, should be sliced ​​(I understand that the quantity would be greater). It should be noted which rind is edible. But these are small things. In short, I'll be back and happy to recommend.

While reservations are strongly recommended, we were lucky to get a table for two on a weekend night in September. Service was prompt, and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Shortly after seating us, our server gave a quick explanation of the menu items, including the day’s specials. The food was exceptional — true comfort food that made us feel genuinely happy as we ate. It warmed us up on a cool evening. We’re not usually big on desserts, but since the meal was so good, we decided to try one — no regrets!

Excellent osteria, quality and refined food, select wines. Fair prices for the quality and quantity served. Welcoming and friendly host. You can tell there's love and passion in this place! Congratulations! I'll definitely be back!

I'm not giving it five stars for the bill, which I think is a bit above average for this type of restaurant, especially compared to other local establishments I've tried. However, I have no complaints about the quality of the ingredients or the preparation of the dishes. Everything was excellent (I returned the dishes as good as new). The service was among the fastest I've encountered so far. I sat down at 2:00 PM and was paying the bill at 2:30 PM. The staff was diligent and friendly. The only thing that was a little off was the final bill (see attached).

A pleasant bistro near the university, convenient for lunch. The staff are always very friendly and explain the dishes. The tortelli are delicious, perhaps a little too greasy with butter. But they're very tasty. The horse meat is a specialty: a fresh and light dish. The place is small and intimate, very casual but nice for lunch. The seating is a bit uncomfortable.

Warmly recommand eating here when in Parma. We had an amazing family dinner at Osteria Virgilio on the terrace in a lovely street. The pasta dishes were amazing and the main dishes were just as good. The wine list is perfect and the personnel was top notch. We would definitely come back!

We are here both nights in Parma. The first night was so delicious, that we couldn’t risk a meal not living up to this. We started with the 30 month Parma which was melt in mouth amazing. For mains, I got the ravioli with ricotta and spinach. The Parmesan cheese on top was outstanding. Hubby had the meatballs, which were so good- I got the next night. The service was amazing, we don’t speak great Italian and the owner not great English but he gave us wine tastings and put so much effort into us understanding the menu and specials as well as pairing the cheeses to the wines of the region. Was a wonderful experience.
