Osteria Verona Antica In Verona

Four of us had dinner at the Osteria Verona Antica - Osteria al Centro and we were really enthusiastic about it. The quality of the food was exceptional, with great attention to the raw materials: oil, cured meats, cheeses, Storo polenta and horse meat were all of the highest standard, prepared and presented with care. Each dish won us over with its authentic and genuine flavours. Special thanks go to the owner, a person who conveys his passion for this job in every detail, making the experience even more pleasant. A place that we highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic quality cuisine. We will definitely be back!

Il posto è molto carino, personale davvero gentile e menu con tanta scelta. Mi è piaciuta molto la polenta e anche il primo con ragù di anatra. Unica pecca negativa è che non accettano conti separati.

New Year's Eve is certainly not significant. Very crowded and not particularly captivating environment. Good traditional foods. Service to be improved (some precautions were missing such as having to ask several times for the chosen wine, rather than a certain slowness in serving). Dinner price.

The bigoli with Gorgonzola and truffle was incredible!!

Very nice place and excellent food with homemade pasta and desserts.. kind and friendly managers but the price is a little too expensive.. I understand that you pay for quality but €200 seems excessive for 2 starters, 2 first courses, 2 second courses and 4 desserts!

We went on a Sunday for lunch and didn't have a reservation. They asked us to wait half an hour and it was worth it. Small, family-run tavern. Menu with few dishes but all typical, fresh homemade pasta. Moderate costs and good value for money. The service is fast and everyone is very kind!! They also bring you bread with the oil they produce, fabulous!!

The pastissada de caval is excellent, served with simplicity in a welcoming family environment. Portions more generous than the average experienced in other taverns and restaurants in Verona.

Everything was delicious, the manager was very courteous and available to describe each dish in great detail and in many languages ​​(English, French, Spanish...). He is also a sort of pepper sommelier and makes different types available for tasting. The location of the restaurant is in a central area, near the Adige, very picturesque. Very high quality/price ratio.

very kind staff, very honest price, fantastic food. They also offered us a post-dinner hazelnut liqueur. If we return to Verona we will definitely stop by, highly recommended

Il caldo assurdo di questo fine ottobre e l'assalto di turisti in quel di Piazza Bra e Piazza delle Erbe mi hanno stroncato, cosicché ormai senza fiato arriva l'una, mi porto fuori dalla mischia, siamo a "Sottoriva" dietro la Chiesa di Sant'Anastasia e qui, in questo paesaggio fuori dal caos, chiedo a una gentil signora se posso accomodarmi ad un tavolino che non é a bordo dell'Adige, ma nel dehor di questo locale che ricalca la tipicità di Verona antica. Non so nemmeno come si chiama, ma lì seduto sto così bene che l'unica cosa che m'interessa é rilassarmi con un buon piatto e acqua fresca. Subito la Signora ci porta il menù, a seguire l'acqua in brocca e soffice pane affettato. Scelgo un piatto che m'incuriosisce, ha vinto il premio "Fungo d'oro" della Comunità montana della Lessinia, Festa dei funghi e del tartufo e in effetti il piatto é molto piacevole, fra l'altro abbondante e d'aspetto invogliante, la mia compagna sceglie tagliatelle alla zucca nostrana. Tutto buono e le porzioni generose lasciano spazio solo al caffè. Non finisce qui che la gentil Signora ci fa assaggiare un digestivo particolare molto soft e un dolcetto tipico di Verona. Tanta gentilezza e un conto veramente onesto ci ha fatto stare veramente bene e alla fine mi sono ritrovato a far “do ciacole” con Davide, il titolare, che se non lo fermi ti racconta annedoti fino a tarda sera e già da lì capisci quanto ci tiene al suo locale e quanta passione ci mette dentro. Non esiste una sola verità quando si parla di un ristorante, c'è l'accoglienza, il team, la materia prima. Qui sanno accogliere il cliente, coccolarlo, essere al suo servizio e Davide che fa questo mestiere da tanti anni non fa mancare nulla.
