Osteria Tacabanda In Asti

A place I discovered years ago, attached to the Alfieri theatre. The food is excellent, the prices are honest and the service is absolutely impeccable! Nicola is a super waiter, thoughtful, kind and witty. Highly recommended: you will discover that Tacabanda is much more than a good restaurant!

Average reception. Big gap between the reception of French and Italians. We ate well all the same.

Service ok. Small but nice place. The kitchen is a sore point.

The atmosphere is very cozy, they have great wines, extensive selection of desserts and prices are good. However, main course was simply not good. It arrived 2-3 minutes after ordering (I appreciate a quick service but how is that even possible?)... We both had a secondi piatti, maybe primi is better otherwise I don't understand the good reviews.

Great traditional Piedmonte restaurant. Most dishes around €10. The red house wine in carafe is excellent value. We had a starter to share, two main dishes, a dessert to share, half a liter house red, 2 half liter bottles sparkling water; total €46. Also a very big selection of regional wines.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Tacabanda restaurant in Asti and the experience was fantastic! The tagliolini with truffle ice cream and the tagliatelle with venison ragù were simply delicious, a true triumph of flavours. The place is very welcoming and well-kept, with a pleasant atmosphere. Special thanks to the owner for the impeccable service and advice on dishes. Furthermore, the prices are absolutely correct for the quality offered. Highly recommended!

We discovered this place by chance and were very pleased. Restaurant located under the Alfieri theatre. Excellent dishes with fast service. Recommended dishes: cardoon flan with parmesan crust and Plin stuffed with red cabbage with toma Advised.

We went to Asti to visit the Christmas markets and at lunch time the choice of where to eat fell on "Tacabanda", a restaurant located in the center and not far from Piazza Alfieri. We booked a couple of hours before. The restaurant is very particular, you have to go down a couple of flights of stairs to access the room, which we found full of diners, both tourists and groups of colleagues. The room is very welcoming, illuminated by a beautiful warm light and in the background there is a beautiful wall full of wines from all over Italy. The cuisine is typical Piedmontese with some reinterpretations and following seasonality. The restaurant employs staff with disabilities, creating an environment in perfect balance between well-executed service and care over the dishes. We ordered a menu of the day which had several options, choosing: a senator's soup, stewed sausage with side dish, 1/4 of house wine and water for 13 euros. In addition we tasted a cooked rabbit salami with fresh sauce, good but a little dry although the sauce (€9) and butter tagliolini with white truffle flavored salted ice cream (11 euros), a delicate, tasty and innovative dish at the same time time. YOU MUST TRY THEM. We spent the right amount, eating well in a courteous environment with attentive and quick service. Very recommended.

Ambiente semplice e famigliare, camerieri gentili e pronti, e un'ottima cucina con prodotti tipici di Asti. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. E' consigliabile prenotare per tempo.
