Very friendly staff, informal and relaxed atmosphere, and excellent food and wine.

Osteria Sottoriva is quite pleasant overall and offers a truly lovely, authentic atmosphere under Verona's old arcades. We received a friendly welcome and equally attentive service, which made a positive first impression. It quickly becomes apparent that this is a very simple osteria, unpretentious and focused on tradition rather than variety. The menu is limited, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the food is prepared in an impressively small space – this fascinated me on the one hand, but on the other hand, it also highlights certain limitations in culinary diversity. The quality of the food was solid, but nothing particularly outstanding or memorable. For a casual, down-to-earth visit, the osteria is perfectly suitable, but you shouldn't expect too much.

Good atmosphere. Less touristy. More authentic.

A wonderful place for a simple aperitivo with good wine and local cicchetti. Try the horse meatballs. The cheerful and friendly waitress is a plus. Recommended.

The atmosphere is super cute, authentic and not touristy. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. You can sit at a table with other people; they don't take reservations, so you just show up and sit wherever there's room. We really appreciated this. The food is very good, with a wide selection of wines. I highly recommend it!

Very nice little restaurant, food was very good

A typical Verona osteria located in the wonderful setting of Sottoriva. We ate lunch outside, enjoying the delicious cuisine (the traditional dishes are a must-try) and the wonderful atmosphere.

Nice place, a bit touristy but worth it, good value for money

Kindness and friendliness are the hallmarks of the place. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable while we waited for a table. The polenta with horse meat was very good, as were the cold cuts and cheeses. Only the wine wasn't exceptional. Overall, a truly beautiful and quaint osteria. Reservations are not accepted.
