Osteria Sciapò In Palermo

Neither bad nor praiseworthy! The place was average: we had arancini, crostini, and eggplant meatballs as appetizers, followed by busiate with fried eggplant and salted ricotta (very good and well-received), mixed grill, beccafico sardines, and swordfish rolls. The appetizers were clearly reheated, so much so that one arancini was cold. Overall, everything else was average.

Hi all, my first choice Osteria Nonna was full. This place was recommended by my Airbnb. Price is not as cheap as anonna but still reasonable. I got greedy. Even when eating alone I had a full 3 course meal. They had an English menu. I had the caponata. At 9€ quite expensive but very tasty. Soft eggplant with a tomato slightly sweet sauce. Portion was big and easy to eat with two or more with bread. As pasta I chose the pasta with sardines. Well it wasn’t my taste and didn’t enjoy it. The plate was huge. Again enough to share. 12€ seems fair for the amount. Frankly a-pettier and pasta is more than enough for non Italian eaters. But I was greedy and wanted to try the mix grill with swordfish, squid and prawns.at 16€ it was really cheap. But was not perfect. The prawn was overcooked, refried? The squid was surprisingly tough. Swordfish was OK. But I have had better in Milan. In the end I couldn’t recommend it for a second time. For this 3 dishes I ended up at 44€. To expensive. But the amount of food is more than fair

Every time we go to Palermo for work, we stop at this osteria! The food is excellent, the portions are generous, and they offer a variety of typical local dishes. Recommended.

Great restaurant with very friendly service. The food was excellent. We had the grilled squid and swordfish and both were really good. The bruschetta was delicious, and the house white wine was also great. We liked it so much that we booked a table again for the next day. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Palermo.
