Osteria San Maurizio In Ivrea

Excellent food, little knowledge of wine. Limited selection of sweet wines.

We booked, there were nine of us, no waiting, only that they set the table inside and it was terribly hot, we suffered throughout the dinner, the food is very good even if the portions are very small, the cost is normal

We loved this osteria. It's run by a wonderful couple. He's a master chef with pasta and meats (keep an eye on the duck breast, it's delicious). She's a super attentive waiter. They're also dog lovers, so you can dine in the dining room with your furry friend... A great choice!

Restaurant with innovative cuisine located at the beginning of the historic center of Ivrea near the Lungo Dora. Rustic interior with tables outside. I did the Vecchio Ponte menu with appetizer, first course, second course based on fish and dessert. The lampuga civiche with avocado and tiger's milk and the swordfish steak with salicornia and gazpacho were good, the buttons with lobster and potatoes were decent and the portion was really small (4 in number), the dessert was very good (pineapple, passion fruit, coconut and vanilla Bavarian cream). Menu price €45 excluding the €4 cover charge (very high). One waitress is a bit grumpy, while the owner is very kind. The wine list is extensive.

The location of Ristorante San Maurizio is truly enchanting: a small gem nestled in a charming setting, with a refined atmosphere and cuisine that promises sensory experiences. The dishes are beautifully presented, using quality ingredients and pairings that reveal a creative approach and attention to detail. However, the overall experience was marred by a welcome that fell short of its all-important standards. It would be nice if the management paid more attention to the customer's initial experience, because when you walk through the doors of a restaurant like this, you expect not only a good meal, but also a warm and professional welcome.

Discovered by chance last night.....and I must say it was a wonderful surprise, a very beautiful, unique, clean and quiet environment, you could talk without shouting, the service was impeccable, the staff very kind and friendly, I took the old bridge menu..... everything was excellent from the veal with tuna sauce to the plin in roast sauce (they were so good they brought tears to my eyes) and then to the sliced ​​meat, a butter that melted in your mouth, my wife had the courgette flowers and the aubergine parmigiana, I have no words to describe the well-balanced and truly good flavours, all washed down with a good bottle of traminer (viner for me 🤣🤣🤣) not to mention the tiramisu in their own way, EXQUISITE. If you happen to pass through Ivrea and want to eat really well and spend the right amount I highly recommend it. Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the dishes....they were too inviting to waste time photographing them.

I decided to visit this place that I had always given up on because of the name, Osteria .. but it has nothing of an Osteria, the place is refined, elegant, with a fairly welcoming atmosphere, the service is excellent and the food exceptional, so much so that I asked for a second of the "ravioli del plin", something sublime... there is a decent selection of white and red wines.
