Everything was excellent and the prices were fair. I've been coming back for 30 years and have never been disappointed. It's one of the few places I can recommend without hesitation.

I had a truly positive experience at Osteria San Giulio. I lived in the area and had been there before, but every time I tried to call to make a reservation, it was always full. This time I finally managed to make it, and as always, it was a real pleasure. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful in securing a reservation right from the phone. At the table, I rediscovered the authenticity of the dishes from days gone by and the courtesy of the staff, always attentive and thoughtful. The food was truly excellent, and we enjoyed every course.

Second time here and absolutely confirmed: an impeccable experience from start to finish. It's one of those places that never misses a beat, where every dish has a precise meaning and a balance you can truly taste.
Special mention goes to the tajarin, enveloping and full of flavor, with a perfect consistency and a lingering flavor, and to the paniscia, rich but never heavy, with all the ingredients perfectly balanced. These are dishes that satisfy without tiring; in fact, you leave the table feeling satisfied but light, which is anything but predictable.
The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home. The service is attentive yet relaxed, in the spirit of a true osteria.
Excellent value for money; it's hard to find such a high standard in these conditions. Truly a little gem.

Watson and I finally managed to investigate the Osteria San Giulio in Badia di Dulzago, near Bellinzago Novarese. After countless reservation attempts, sending a WhatsApp message almost two weeks before the Saturday we'd chosen for our dinner, we finally got to experience the rustic cuisine of Andrea, the owner. The osteria is nestled within the walls of the ancient 12th-century Augustinian abbey, which evolved as a rural business, but which still preserves the church nestled within the farm walls. Within these same walls, directly opposite the church of San Giulio, remodeled in the 18th century, is the osteria of the same name, which extends over the ground floor and upper floors with several rooms. The furnishings are spartan and the staff is young, but the place is clean and tidy, and the waiters are always present, never missing a beat, and extremely efficient. Menus are both à la carte and the "oste" menu (appetizer, first course, and dessert). We opted for the à la carte menu, this time skipping the appetizer (it's starting to get old): for the first course, Piedmontese agnolotti with three roasts (the paniscia would have taken too long); braised beef with polenta and gorgonzola for the second course; and sorbet and coffee to round out the evening. They accompanied the dinner with a bottle of Anzivino's 2020 Bramaterra vintage and mineral water. The ravioli were good, as was the braised beef and gorgonzola, but the polenta wasn't so good. The sorbet and coffee were also good. We spent €110 for two. If you like simple places and convivial noise, it's fine, but less so if you're looking for something traditional but quiet. Still, worth a try.

A truly old-fashioned osteria, with fantastic and always fresh appetizers based on local tradition, always with a twist. The first courses are truly excellent, the best paniscia in the area, the agnolotti are a spectacle, and the second course... I've never had the chance to try it, given the portions.
The bill is always reasonable and worthy of an osteria. Congratulations, keep it up.
The only downside is that you're always packed! Hahahahaha!

I don't usually write reviews, but Andrea deserves it because his osteria serves excellent food and is reasonably priced.
I recommend the tasting!
The staff is very friendly!

You don't go to Osteria San Giulio to eat. You go to make peace with the world.
In the suspended silence of the Badia di Dulzago, between ancient bricks and the authentic countryside, a magic we know well in Piedmont happens here: few frills, absolute substance. Aromas that grab you by the collar and remind you that cuisine, true cuisine, is born of time and respect.
The agnolotti are a statement of identity. The paniscia is powerful, profound, peasant in the noblest sense of the word. The cured meats have that Piedmontese pride that needs no explanation. And then the bunet... dark, intense, definitive.
The portions are generous, like a family Sunday. The wine speaks the language of the land. The service is authentic, without drama, but with that silent care that is worth more than a thousand forced smiles.
Here you won't find the special effect. You find the truth.
And it's spectacular.
