Osteria Pico In Matera

Good restaurant, pleasant atmosphere and good service.

I'm sorry - but like many highly rated restaurants in Matera, this one does not live up to the rating and has been catering too long for foreign tourist palates. It was the only pasta I ate in 1 month in Italy that was not al dente. And it lacked seasoning. The other main was an acceptable but basic pork and crispy peppers dish. Only the zucchini and apple salad were good quality. The service was adequate. The cave atmosphere probably the best part of the experience.

Very suggestive location Ate dinner with a very abundant but truly exquisite mixed appetizer with local dishes and simple but quality ingredients. Followed by orecchiette with pesto and the cream of broad beans with chicory, all accompanied by a good bottle of negramaro rosé. Quick, courteous and helpful service. I highly recommend it!

Very good restaurant, the rabbit was very good, the zucchini salad to die for, the ravioli very good and the desserts too. The prices are reasonable and the service too. We arrived at opening time, so no waiting.

Osteria Pico was a great choice. We ordered a variety of traditional dishes and liked them all. The freshness and flavours of the food were mouthwatering. Enjoying a nice dinner inside an old cave surrounded by nice paintings and good people was exactly what we were looking for. The service was great. We had Julia take care of us. Good food, especially fried codfish. Our elegant server move gracefully between tables and deliver dishes precisely. What a crisp movements.

Excelente noche con un menú muy diferente. Tenía el conejo como principal y con ensalada de tomate para empezar. Otros tenían como principal al jabalí. Ambos muy buenos. El vino de la casa era bueno y servido por cuarto , medio y litro completo. Servicio muy bueno. Un gran hallazgo.

Bel ristorante nei famosi Sassi di Matera. Pulito, elegante e con una calda atmosfera nonché raffinata. Ottimo cibo, soprattutto le materie prime di primissima qualità e fresche. Ho gradito l’antipasto ed il secondo, il capocollo di maiale con i funghi cardoncelli era molto tenero e cotto alla perfezione, non sarebbe guastato un po’ più di sale. Unica pecca i tagliolini ai pomodorini e ricotta, scotti e in parte spezzati, anche in questo caso un vero peccato perché il sapore era buono. Sicuramente molto buoni i ferricelli con crema di pistacchi. Ottimo anche il cinghiale in umido. Il dessert è stato favoloso: mousse di ricotta all’amaretto: deliziosa!!! Complimenti al servizio, tavola ben apparecchiata e camerieri disponibili ed educati. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
