Osteria Pico In Matera

Arrived here by a recommendation from a local. Excellent food with high quality raw materials and you will find excellent service. Thanks Enzo for your welcome

We were recommended and thank goodness! The entrance is small, on via dei Fiorentini and you can hardly notice it, but from the menu you can tell that it is not the usual tourist restaurant. Enzo, the owner, is affable and very kind. In the kitchen is his wife, who I would almost call an artist. I recommend the first course with caciocavallo sauce, porcini mushrooms and native pistachios. For the second course, the capocollo with cardoncello mushroom, paprika and crusco pepper was worthy of applause! I still have to ask for the dessert!

Restaurant located in the center of Matera. The characteristic environment makes it very welcoming and comfortable. The menu offers a wide variety. The quality of the dishes is excellent and the portions are very generous. The prices are definitely reasonable if compared to the quality. The staff is kind and friendly Restaurant definitely recommended!

To tell the truth, I ate well in all the places I went to in Matera. Perhaps the real difference between the different places with Pico was the service. The waiters were kind and knowledgeable and, honestly, I have particularly happy memories of the broad bean purée with chicory. Simple you might say but not that good. The wine list is good and decidedly unconventional but the desserts are excellent. The surprise: the price, on the positive side.

Amazing food. Top quality food. Take care of any details. Traditional food from Matera/ Basilicata. The waitress, Carlo, is a machine. Professional and unstoppable, 💯 dedication for the customer.

Nice local food and traditional restaurant with cheap price and nice atmosphere typical of this part of the city. We tried different local dishes and really enjoyed them. The prices are very reasonable and they also have a good house's wine.

We had lunch at Osteria Pico in a simple and refined environment. As an appetizer we took the house selection with cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by fried crusco pepper, crunchy and tasty. Followed by two first courses: strozzapreti with crusco pepper, well seasoned and pleasant, and a pasta with mushrooms and pistachio with a balanced flavour. The portions were just right and the service attentive. The menu offers traditional Lucanian dishes with some personal touches. The experience was positive, without excesses. A stop suitable for those looking for local cuisine with simple ingredients. We may return to try other proposals.

Excelente noche con un menú muy diferente. Tenía el conejo como principal y con ensalada de tomate para empezar. Otros tenían como principal al jabalí. Ambos muy buenos. El vino de la casa era bueno y servido por cuarto , medio y litro completo. Servicio muy bueno. Un gran hallazgo.

Bel ristorante nei famosi Sassi di Matera. Pulito, elegante e con una calda atmosfera nonché raffinata. Ottimo cibo, soprattutto le materie prime di primissima qualità e fresche. Ho gradito l’antipasto ed il secondo, il capocollo di maiale con i funghi cardoncelli era molto tenero e cotto alla perfezione, non sarebbe guastato un po’ più di sale. Unica pecca i tagliolini ai pomodorini e ricotta, scotti e in parte spezzati, anche in questo caso un vero peccato perché il sapore era buono. Sicuramente molto buoni i ferricelli con crema di pistacchi. Ottimo anche il cinghiale in umido. Il dessert è stato favoloso: mousse di ricotta all’amaretto: deliziosa!!! Complimenti al servizio, tavola ben apparecchiata e camerieri disponibili ed educati. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
