A pleasant dinner in a very traditional restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The food was excellent, including the local wine and amaro. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were fair.

OSTERIA PICO was recommended to us by Paolo, one of the best tour guides we met during our road trip in Italy.
We went there for dinner: the owner's welcome and the professional service immediately put us at ease.
The owner's grandson was also there, the restaurant's true mascot.
We tasted appetizers and dishes that were both simple and sophisticated, typical yet contemporary. Everything was extremely tasty and the portions very generous: you have to try the peperoni cruschi (peppers) and cardoncelli (mushrooms)!
We also loved the wine, Aglianico del Volture!!!
Everything was perfect.
100% recommended!

Stumbled upon this place while walking the sassi - Exceptional from start to finish, can’t recommend it enough. Walked in when it was super quiet and was reluctant but the place filled with locals before we knew it and once the food hit the table we knew exactly why.

abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante nei Sassi di Matera , locale davvero caratteristico ed elegante , ottima cucina materana , cavatelli e ferricelli con pinoli e pesto davvero molto buoni , come il cinghiale e il baccalà , ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo , personale cortese e premuroso , servizio veloce , consigliatissimo

Excelente noche con un menú muy diferente. Tenía el conejo como principal y con ensalada de tomate para empezar.
Otros tenían como principal al jabalí. Ambos muy buenos.
El vino de la casa era bueno y servido por cuarto , medio y litro completo.
Servicio muy bueno.
Un gran hallazgo.
