Osteria Padi In Roma

This restaurant was closed on our first evening in Rome, so we called in on our second evening without making a reservation. Fortunately there was a table free inside. The food was good but not exceptional. Staff were friendly. One nice, quirky touch, was that they provided Shona with a 'bib' as she was having pasta amatriciana 🙂

Highly recommended, the staff was very friendly and responded perfectly to our requests.

central and convenient location to stop and eat something during a walk in the center, excellent service, everyone very kind and professional, truly excellent food, as a Roman I recommend it and I also recommend the cacio e pepe, the tripe that made me fall in love and the artichokes alla giudia

Pleasantly surprised. The service is efficient and timely. I get that the Italian dining experience can transcend time, but sometimes, when you are tired, you just want to eat some good food and go. This place delivers. The food is good. I hesitate to say it is great, but it is good relative to the price. You won't be disappointed. Also, the prices are reasonable. This place should have a higher overall rating.

A gourmet interlude I won't soon forget. A special mention goes to the truffle pasta: a perfectly executed dish, with impeccably cooked pasta, a creamy and generous sauce, and a subtly balanced truffle aroma that envelops the palate without ever overwhelming it. A true masterpiece. The setting is pleasant, the service attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience makes you want to come back. 👌

Came across this restaurant after walking around Vatican City and boy were we glad we decided to enter this establishment. We ordered the tagliolini with truffle, meatball, and margherita pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the meatballs which were cooked in their homemade tomato sauce. Truffle pasta was the right amount of creamy and the truffle not too overwhelming. The waiter offered to add cheese on the pasta which made it even more flavorful! Waiter was very friendly and accommodating to our requests, restaurant was very clean and well lit. I will be dreaming about the food until my next trip back to Rome!

We were on a 1 day excursion from our cruise. We hired a driver for the day. We told him we wanted local "cacio de pepe". After our visit to the Vatican our driver took us to THE most AMAZING place, Osteria Padi Vaticano. We had the most amazing cacio de pepe. I ordered my dish off of the daily specials not even knowing what I was going to get. To my delight it was a cacio de pepe with fried battered squash flowers. It was I dish I had while visiting a friend who's family was first generation Italian American. I loved the dish and have tied to make it as I've never found it in America. The dish triggered such happy tears for such a special memory. I will never forget our time at Osteria. We had great wine, a strawberry dessert. Such a wonderful time food and memories. Thank you so much.

Googled it and I have to say it was excellent advice. All great food and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
