Don't be fooled by the number of reviews, like I was :) You don't have many options for food, I came specifically for the pasta. The place requires reservations, we went in without because there were only 2 of us, but it's not worth the wait or the disappointment of not having a seat. Overall, in my opinion it's a very overrated place. Popular doesn't mean good.

One of the Best Meals of the Holiday We had an absolutely outstanding lunch here—truly one of the best meals of our entire holiday! The quality, flavor, and fair prices make this place a must-visit. We would definitely come again. The Pasta Standout I ordered the Pasta with Sausage Ragù, and it was absolutely delicious. The dish featured a generous portion of meat and the flavor was perfectly balanced, hitting notes of salt, savory richness, and a great little creaminess. Crucially, the pasta was perfectly cooked (something many places struggle with, often leaving it too hard). This pasta dish alone is a winner! The Signature Meat Dish The dish that truly stood out was the meat dish (the second photo, possibly a secondo or a specialty primo). It was served with a pumpkin sauce and a hint of truffle. This dish was a masterpiece! It should be a permanent menu item, not just a daily special—it has all the makings of a signature dish. The depth of flavor was amazing and I would happily eat it all day. Conclusion Both dishes were phenomenal, cooked to perfection, and represented incredible value. The experience was flawless and featured one of the best combinations of flavor and portioning we've encountered. Highly recommended!

The service was excellent and the waiters were very knowledgeable. The food was also excellent. It was quiet when we first arrived, but soon filled to capacity.

We went to this Osteria for dinner, the food was very good, the waiters were very competent, the only flaw was that it was very hot.

Consigliati dal nostro ospite abbiamo provato Materamì e il consiglio è stato prezioso. Abbiamo cenato in terrazza, a metà della discesa verso S. Agostino, in una serata calda ma con piacevole ariettina. Cibo tipico con personalizzazioni molto apprezzate: in due abbiamo mangiato un antipasto (la cialledda), due primi (foglie d'ulivo alla contadina e cavatellini con ceci neri, baccalà e crusco), un secondo (baccalà alla S. Giovannino), due dolci e due caffè. Anticipati da una mousse di benvenuto spettacolare ogni piatto era davvero un piacere per il palato e uno spettacolo di sapori. I complimenti allo chef e a tutto lo staff molto cordiale e attento, se avete l'occasione assolutamente da provare. Per concludere nota di merito ulteriore al prezzo, 79€ in due per una cena così sono un prezzo onestissimo!

Tutto perfetto! Servizio veloce, la location è mozzafiato con vista su Matera e i piatti buonissimi, materie prime ottime , consiglio fave e cicoria, troppo buono!!
