Osteria La vela In Verona

A cozy, traditional restaurant in the heart of Verona! We enjoyed delicious pasta and excellent wine in a relaxed atmosphere. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Perfect for a quiet meal after a stroll through the city.

We spent two days in Verona and went twice. The first day we ate a typical local dish, risotto al tastasal. Very good and filling. We noticed that the pasta was also made to order. It wasn't pre-cooked. It looked very good. The next day we went for dinner. We had tagliata and horse pastisada. Excellent. Reasonable prices. Very friendly service.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this small Osteria in Verona, an unforgettable place for its atmosphere, its music, and its exquisite homemade Italian food. It has a small bar and only three tables, where the owner, waiter, and chef serve delicacies he makes himself. We tried the lasagna Bolognese, the tagliatelle tartufo, and the tagliatelle Bolognese, and we loved everything. And to finish, we had an exquisite, generously sized homemade tiramisu. The chef serves us personally and is very pleasant. Thank you for a unique experience in Verona. Thank you very much!

Absolutely delicious. It's the best pasta I've ever eaten, completely homemade. In our case, we ordered lasagna, tagliatelle with ragu, and also with truffle and mushrooms... All spectacular. We were incredibly lucky to find this place open, because the others wouldn't accept us, and what luck we had!!! Plus, the man couldn't have been more kind and dedicated. He made recommendations and was very pleasant to us. And he was thrilled that we licked our plates. Let's make the scarpetta!! ❤️❤️

We went on Friday evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent food and a super welcoming atmosphere. What can I say? Definitely worth a visit again.

A typical old-fashioned tavern in the heart of the old town, just steps from the Ponte Scaligero. The friendly owners made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is typical Veronese, and the food is top-notch.

Luckily, we stopped to look at other places because Osteria La Vela was closed. The owner, Mr. Tiziano, arrived and was due to open shortly. We returned around 1:00 PM. He welcomed us very kindly and politely. He's a friendly and sociable person, and we ate very well... thank you.

A very pleasant lunch in a small but welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent, the bigoli with donkey ragù was delicious, and the portions were generous. The owner was friendly and very kind. I highly recommend it!

What a hidden gem! I came to La Vela without any expectations at all and I left the place extremely surprised! We had bigoli as primi (donkey and duck) and they were amazing. It felt like the food an old nonna would make to her family on sundays, it hugs you, it’s tasty, simple, but extremely well prepared. Perfect! For second we shared the polenta with horse meat and, once again, an amazing dish! Very tasty, with the polenta cooked on the right form, not soggy, nor dry, just correct! The horse meat is extremely tasty. The service is warm and welcoming! They make you feel like you’re at their home. It’s a simple place, with traditional local dishes made perfectly and warm service. If you’re in Verona, just go!
