Located in a very quiet place, good old fashioned food and very honest prices for the quality. Very welcoming and familiar service, the innkeeper is very friendly and takes the time to go around the tables to explain all the dishes on the menu. I highly recommend

I was traveling with my friends on the motorway, we were hungry and we were looking for a place to eat on Google maps and, almost by chance, this place caught our eye.
Reading reviews and comments, we decide that it is the right place for us.
Once we arrived on site, we were initially welcomed by the staff and then by the owner who proved to be very welcoming and helpful, telling us the history of the place and all the famous people who passed through the tavern, including the great Enzo Ferrari of whom he was able to tell us numerous anecdotes.
Our dinner begins with "La Minestraccia" which to our surprise turns out to be very tasty.
Afterwards we were served the "Tortellini of the engineer Enzo Ferrari" which we even had an encore of because they were so good!!
The second course is "Le Polpette della Gianna" accompanied by mashed potatoes which we tastefully appreciated.
To conclude, sweet polenta cake, followed by "Caffe di Erbe with Secchia amaro" absolutely worth trying!!
All at the very honest price of €30 each.
We highly recommend this tavern, because it is one of the only authentic taverns left in Italy, with a history like this.
We thank the staff and owner for entertaining us throughout our experience.

INVERTERIES, THE BEAUTIFUL THOSE.
Temperature 37°. We get in the car for lunch. We leave Via Emilia for a narrow road that runs between a couple of closed warehouses and sun-baked fields. I don't know! Will it be right? It is!
The sign itself tells a story and attracts you. The garden features properly set wooden tables and... a bin, shortly afterwards moved, from which a lot of smoke comes out, "so the mosquitoes stay in Modena" Claudio tells us.
Claudio, the owner, is the innkeeper with a capital O, he welcomes us in a knowledgeable, friendly and homely manner, explaining his menu to us: "you were right to come here today, we have prepared some special things, even the tortellini without meat, the poor ones that everyone likes." You don't even have to go through the trouble of choosing what to eat: what has been prepared is brought to you. And so in a relaxed environment, between anecdotes and chatting we spend a couple of wonderful hours. For dessert, polenta cake (we specify, without eggs and without butter), acorn and barley coffee and Secchia bitters to "drink absolutely in the same glass as the coffee, so it flavours", after having listened fascinated to Claudio's stories, let's see shine his eyes; he discovers that we are from Gorizia where he had raids and some rallies with Mr. Gratton, his great friend.
It's time to say goodbye and promise to return.
By the way, Claudio says of himself: "once upon a time I was an innkeeper, today thanks to my helpers, I am an entreneuse!".
If you are in the area, you shouldn't miss a place like this.

Nice and good tavern with only a few dishes to choose from... fixed menu with only 2 first courses, 1 second course with side dish.
A place not suitable for children who don't eat like adults, because being a tavern they don't have a varied menu.
Very characteristic place and truly quality dishes like in the past...
If I can give one piece of advice to the owner (a kind person and very knowledgeable about food) to be a little less intrusive during the diners' lunch with stock phrases repeated the same continuously at all the tables; it might even bother some. ...
Overall I had a good time but a little more cleaning on the tables located under the pergola wouldn't hurt....

I am a cook from Arezzo and I was pleased to come across a place similar to mine, a short menu and therefore made fresh every morning and food without "additions" such as stock cubes, preparations or spices and a very high price-quality ratio of 25 euros. If I pass I'll come back. Marianna

Siamo tra i cosiddetti recidivi della Piola, ci torniamo sempre molto volentieri quando siamo di passaggio a Modena. Tutto ottimo e abbondante come al solito a partire dai tortellini ( mio figlio ne ha mangiate 3 porzioni).

Abbiamo voluto verificare le buone valutazioni lette su questo "storico" locale: ottima scelta! Da segnalare la cortese accoglienza (per clienti nuovi), e il servizio efficiente; in particolare abbiamo apprezzato i "tortellini dell'ingegnere" e la "minestraccia". Costo adeguato.
