Rustic setting in a country house on the hill above Viano with good service and very good food. The final bill is adequate for the quality of the dishes... recommended with a fairly early reservation due to the limited number of seats... inside many paintings and drawings by the well-known cartoonist Ro Mercenaro.

Everything was good, very kind, good but not very knowledgeable guys, but I didn't appreciate leaving the place and literally stinking, maybe a good extractor is needed, shame I didn't mention the themed lunch.

It's not food but poetry, a devastating mix of mountain flavours, including mushrooms and truffles, a rustic and warm place, kind and competent staff, everything wonderful, I highly recommend the cappelletti with mushrooms and truffles, out of this world, prices slightly above average, but to be honest more than deserved... congratulations, top osteria in the Reggio Emilia area!

First experience on a Sunday in early December for lunch.
The atmosphere was very warm and rustic, very pleasant, perfectly suited to the hilly setting and the menu.
The food and dishes offered were undeniably excellent: gnocchi alla boscaiola, spectacular mushrooms, and equally excellent venison steak with blueberries (the meat was a bit stiff, but nothing serious; the mix of flavors was sublime).
Given the prices, which could very well reflect the excellent quality of the ingredients, I expected slightly larger portions.
A very sore point: the service of the day.
First courses arrived at least 20-30 minutes late, second courses perhaps more, and various disregards for the needs and requests of customers, even at other tables.
The overload on a Sunday in the middle of a long weekend is understandable, but the service, timing, and attention to detail could certainly be improved on these occasions.
It's a shame about the service; the only thing that will make me give it a second chance was the quality of the dishes offered.
I hope this review can be constructive and helpful in improving the points written above.
