Local food! Good quality! Loved the wild boar pasta with red sauce. Polenta was great! Really enjoyed the bean soup. The aglianico red wine was delicious. We enjoyed both the inside restaurant (at a previous visit) and the lovely garden across the street.

While visiting the village of Caserta Vecchia we stopped to eat at this place. We didn't find any customers but it seemed normal to me since there were no other tourists around besides us (apart from a wedding in the Duomo). We ordered a cavatello with mushrooms and sausage and some friggitelli for me and two pasta and beans with provola cheese for the ladies, water and house wine (aglianico) to drink, babà for dessert. The first courses are not only good but also plentiful, the friggitelli are heavenly (I'm crazy about them) and the wine, even if in bulk, is good, the babà is praiseworthy. Very kind staff.

This is a small authentic Italian family run restaurant in the Ancient part of Caserta. The food is typical of the area, not American Italian food. We had three specials, the cavetelli with wild Boar ragu. It was delicious. We also had 2 side dishes, the artichoke and grilled eggplant, excellent. We enjoyed this casual, warm restaurant and would return to try other dishes. We also had 2 beers, and the total bill was $28. We were full

Excellent food, welcoming place and very friendly staff. Found this restaurant by chance and I really enjoyed the roasted artichoke.

A Caserta Vecchia c'è una osteria dove si mangia benissimo. È l'osteria Medioevale. Menù del territorio, prezzi onesti, gentilezza e cortesia ne fanno il loro cavallo di battaglia.

The cleanliness of the premises (and services), the courtesy of the host, the genuine and excellent flavours, the bill (the right one, fortunately not salty) made it an excellent choice for a quick lunch in Casertavecchia.
