Osteria La Cena Coi Fiocchi - Cucina Viva In Torino

11/08/2024: Honestly, I don't agree with the very positive reviews I see here about this place. Went last night, there were 4 of us; there was no place and we were told to wait 10 minutes: we waited at least 30 minutes and only with insistence were we able to sit down. Space is minimal both at the tables and in the passageways, perhaps better in the courtyard. The wines are normal, nothing exceptional. The food choice was poor, as there were only meatballs and some appetizers with sauces, tomini, etc. We all found the meatballs to be of poor quality and borderline edible, both the meat and vegetable ones. The appetizers did not impress us positively and we ate them only because we were hungry.. When we paid the manager it wasn't clear what we had taken (two half liters of water had been mistaken for white wine...) In short, perhaps the place was once worth a visit (some friends told us), but at the at the moment it is not advisable in terms of value for money or even in terms of quality.

28/07/2024: Although now well known by tourists, this remains one of the most typical *piola*, the old-style wine places once typical of Torino. Food remains excellent (I eat some of it to be reminded of what my granny used to cook, in a - more prosaic - Proustian way) Wine is cheap and if one knows what to ask for, the price-quality ratio is high.
