Osteria Italia In Erba

It was very easy to book. The food is all truly excellent (starting with the bread, made in Altamura...delicious!), but, for my personal taste, the "Pumpkin risotto with luganega pasta, goat cheese, and candied lemon" is something out of this world. We'll definitely be back!

A historic restaurant under new management. The dishes are highly refined, yet still offer authentic flavors. It's worth it.

Just steps from the beautiful frescoed church of Santa Maria degli Angeli (by the Luini school), where the feast of Sant'Antonio Abate is celebrated, I found this lovely osteria, with a rustic yet elegant atmosphere. The dishes are few, but imaginative. I had a fillet of char, partly cooked and partly raw, I believe, garnished with delicious sauces. The dish was beautifully presented, with a loaf of fragrant bread paired with extra virgin olive oil. I wasn't sure what wine to pair it with, but they recommended a light and fragrant Nebbiolo. A main course of lake peace, a glass of wine, water, and coffee cost about €30—absolutely well spent. Next time we celebrate Sant'Antonio, we'll have to order more!

I've been several times since it opened, both as a couple and as a family. Every time, it's a wonderful experience. Riccardo, the host, is a natural aggregator, always creating a positive atmosphere. The menu, curated by a young chef, is beautifully executed! The cheek melts in your mouth, and the rose cake... try it. The lovely wine list rounds out the experience.
