This restaurant alone is worth a trip back to Lake Como. Romantic, charming, and full of heart. The owner was so kind, the service was flawless, and every bite was incredible. We got the pistachio paccheri, fish ravioli, duck, tiramisu - best duck I’ve ever had! Champagne and red wine amazing as well. Our Airbnb host recommended it to us and it’s definitely a must-visit❤️

Dining at Osteria 1801 in Lezzeno was a memorable experience from start to finish. The restaurant, which presents itself as the oldest hotel restaurant in the world (established in 565), immediately set a gracious tone with a warm, personalized confirmation as soon as we made our reservation. When we arrived, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us by bringing a table from inside out to the terrace so we could enjoy the beautiful setting. The food was outstanding; in particular, the pasta with pistachio sauce and the smoked salmon were exceptional, and the desserts were equally impressive. The owner’s care, presence, and attention to detail were far above average, and his friendly wave goodbye at the end of the evening, along with a personalized postcard to remember our visit, made the experience feel truly special. The entire evening was genuinely delightful and deeply personal from beginning to end, and I would highly recommend Osteria 1801 to anyone visiting the area.

Best placed we visited in our trip to Lake Como. Pistacchio Pasta was incredibly nice and all dishes we tried were spectacular. The restaurant is also beatiful and the service was perfect.

We happened to drive past this beautiful restaurant and immediately knew we had to stop. We couldn't have made a better decision. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from the owner himself, and although we don't speak Italian, we were able to communicate easily in English. The atmosphere is simply magical: a romantic terrace under shady trees with a magnificent view of the lake. We were given several recommendations, and we opted for pasta and fish. What can I say? We weren't just not disappointed, we were absolutely delighted. Every bite was a delight. The recommended wine and dessert were also perfectly paired and rounded off the experience beautifully. The entire team was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A place we will certainly never forget and one we wholeheartedly recommend.

Honestly, I don’t understand how this restaurant has such high ratings. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is great, but the food was below average. Bland sauce with the lamb, overcooked and tasteless vegetables, and everything seriously under-seasoned.

Beautiful spot. Honestly one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve been to. Wish they had a bit more on the menu but the meat and cheese board was still nice.

We were seated in the underground wine cellar stone walls, old barrels, candlelight. One of the most atmospheric dining rooms I’ve ever been in. The food matched the setting. Smoked salmon rose to start, then two pastas: spaghetti with caviar in a silky cream sauce, and paccheri in pistachio cream with cured meat. Both were outstanding. Dessert was a pistachio dome and the best tiramisu I’ve had in a long time. The two brothers running the front of house made the whole evening. Warm, genuine, no performance just real hospitality. If you’re near Lake Como, ask to sit in the cellar. You won’t forget it.

Osteria Il Governo was recommended by a friend and not a single dish disappointed. If you are visiting Lake Como, this restaurant is a must! The service was of an incredibly high standard and every dish was explained in detail by the waiter, who has kept the restaurant active and in the family after many generations. He later took us around a tour of the restaurant, showcasing its rich history. This place is a fine dining experience that should not be missed!
